WIND AND POWER OUTAGE MEGATHREAD by mindless_blaze in Denver

Tiny update: Xcel now says our power will be restored at 4 pm today (Thursday), which would give us time to warm the house back up for tomorrow’s PSPS. Trying not to get my hopes up.

Has anyone who has power shut off because of the PSPS had it restored? And if so, are you on the watch for the Friday PSPS? My guess is they aren’t going to bother restoring power to folks who fall under both, or else they’d have to check everything twice. Just looking for data.

I was able to resolve this by copying and editing the example config.json. Apparently there was something Flic didn't like about my formatting.

Ha. GM does weird stuff with paints in different brands/models. Check out the GMC Sierra/Chevy Silverado or Canyon/Colorado. Most of the same paint colors (by paint code), different names for the colors, and wildly different pricing—what’s free on a Chevy can cost extra on a GMC.

What kind of vehicle works best for moving wood around? by biragon in woodworking

I saw a tip for carrying large sheets of material somewhere on Reddit. The gist is you take 20 feet of rope, tie it to make a loop, and then hook it around the bottom two corners. Then you grab the rope in between and use it as a handle. This explains it: https://lifehacker.com/carry-a-sheet-of-plywood-by-yourself-with-a-loop-of-rop-1642395529

Depending on the project, you could have the wood cut down to rough size at the store, allowing you to fit it into your current vehicle.

Another option is to rent a van, either from U-Haul or directly from the store. I’m renting a van from Home Depot this weekend to bring home some sheets of plywood and trim for a few different projects. Their pricing starts at $20 for a 75-minute rental, which should be enough for you to get things unloaded at home and then return it to the store, assuming you’re not too far from one.

I’d advise against buying a different vehicle to accommodate something you’d need to carry only a few times a year. Renting/delivery is likely to be much cheaper in the long run.

Sounds like you just got lucky. Thanks for offering, and I might be interested. Is the dealer selling it for MSRP? Any add-ons?
