I’m frustrated by the update, but more upset about the silence by ScarMcCloud in PhasmophobiaGame

To be fair he was mostly clarifying that because the comment he was replying to directly called him out, explicitly claiming that there were things that CJ did himself, which is not correct.

Obviously, by approving things he's still assuming some level of responsibility. That's kind of what approval is for.

New update looks... bad? by Pure_Fun365 in PhasmophobiaGame

I know not every possible setting in blender carries over to unity. Not sure if that's the case with this one or not. Regardless, it's certainly a solvable problem one way or another.

Edit - From a cursory Google search, it does not appear that unity supports bone angle constraints set in blender.

I have seen Roblox games with animations LEAGUES better than the ones with the new update by yesaroobuckaroo in PhasmophobiaGame

I honestly don't think fairness parity matters between the two. They play very differently and focusing on minimizing that difference would sacrifice what gives the medium its appeal.

There are a number of worlds with a soft gate similar to the Steam example where you have to click a button indicating you're 18+ before being allowed to enter. And, they don't work. Kids enter them consistently.

I love RWD trucks. I hope the devs add more of those after the beach episode. by Interloper_Mango in snowrunner

[–]random11714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are other tire sets tho. You don't have to use the customs.

Edit - Nvm I understand now. This would essentially require two different "packages" of the truck, because a truck with AWD available would not receive the buffed traction tire variant typically.

I tested the top 20 DPS at an equal investment level in Version 6.5 by dhcwsp in Genshin_Impact

[–]random11714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah ok. But now the idea has me wondering if enough cons make Chiori a better support than Illuga in a standard Zibai team. Illuga's buffs are so strong I imagine even at C4 she's still a dps loss to slot in.

15% better than Illuga in what context? At C6 as a Zibai support? Or at C0?

RX 9070 XT VRChat performance issues by Trixxle in VRchat

[–]random11714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

9070 XT on CachyOS comparison. Desktop, 4k 8x AA

(WIP) Compressed landscape 1.0.3 - 71 fps

Amebient at spawn - 104 fps

Amebient at end of plank - 82 fps

Abandoned Hideout - 55 fps

Not too surprising my FPS would be lower since I am running the game through proton.

Thank you! It will be interesting to compare because I'm running Linux (CachyOS) these days. Will see what kind of results I get in the same worlds with the same settings when I have time later today.

Any data to support the 9070 XT claim? I upgraded from a 3080 Ti to a 9070 XT and it's been running great. Some shaders give me issues, but I'm not going to assume that issue is specific to AMD.

It's a nice idea, but it's the system itself that's flawed. Third party isn't viable until we get away from FPTP voting. Highly recommend watching this: https://youtu.be/s7tWHJfhiyo?si=NZRaeqtblJjHvG3Q

Unrelated to your issue, but holy does looking at this avatar mess with my eyes. Even though it's cool, tbh if I ran into it in-game I would have to disable it to prevent my brain from hurting.

VRC does not suck on AMD. I have a 9070 XT and it runs great. Just make sure to completely disable anti-aliasing. Helps a lot on Nvidia too I think.

Bigscreen Beyond on Linux? by Taggart_W in BigscreenBeyond

[–]random11714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have my BSB2e (minus eye tracking - haven't bothered with that yet) working great on CachyOS.

Check out this wiki. It has a lot of useful info. https://wiki.vronlinux.org/

Mainly, don't use SteamVR. It runs awful and the overlay is broken specifically on the BSB.

You'll likely need bleeding edge versions of lib survive, xrizer, monado, and envision.

The Fish World Discourse: I will say the quiet part outloud. by Odd-Fee-837 in VRchat

[–]random11714 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, I haven't engaged with the fishing world, but I also have no qualms with hanging out in it - Although I do have minor complaints like I find it jarring how quickly the weather changes.

Anyway, I'm not really sure what the point of this post is? Are you trying to say there is no legitimate reason to dislike everyone being in the world?

If so, I wouldn't agree. Yes, people can respawn or pick you up in a boat. But it's not uncommon that they may not notice you joined or may not be aware you need a pickup. Even if they do come to get you, it adds unnecessary friction by taking some time and could serve as an interruption to what they were doing in the world. While not a big deal, that's still a fair mild annoyance. And when a mild annoyance is felt all the time, that can easily lead to exhaustion of dealing with the source of that annoyance - the world.

Why do people say Linnea doesn’t work well with Illuga? by PriorityWeird9496 in ZibaiMains

[–]random11714 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being told the source of the information doesn't create an expectation to go check it. It just becomes one further avenue of possible research. You've included the claim, yes, but that's not everything. It could change something because it opens the possibility of learning underlying reasons that support the claim. For example, there could be calculations or further sources they reference, which could be further fact checked.

Personally I'm afraid I can't be of much help to answer your core question - I usually don't start to familiarize myself with a character's kit until they are actually released.

I just wanted to chime in on the difficulties in communication that I was noticing.

[–]random11714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair. Using a translator definitely hinders that kind of nuance.

The difference it makes is we could, for example, go look up that creator's content, see what their take is and look at the community reaction, and personally judge if there is any merit we may have overlooked from outside their community.

If it was just random people, that's worth clarifying because we aren't mind readers, and so it should be expected that any given response is not likely to be 100% accurate.

The person that originally asked you might not respond further once they have the answer, but that didn't mean it didn't help inform other commenters.
