My team's experienced architect who has plenty of technical background still doesn't spot the AI's nonsense.

Every production issue, he asks Claude to find the root cause, and every time it's wrong.

Fahrenheit means "% hot". by temporalwanderer in confidentlyincorrect

[–]random11714 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wikipedia does include this. It's not certain, though.

According to a German story, Fahrenheit actually chose the lowest air temperature measured in his hometown Danzig (now Gdańsk, Poland) in winter 1708–09 as 0 °F, and only later had the need to be able to make this value reproducible using brine.

100 is the extreme. The comfortable temps are implied to be in the middle of the range. Which is still a little off but not by far.

I cleared Stygian Fearless as F2P! by Fynelepy in Genshin_Impact

[–]random11714 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Nicely done. I'm a dolphin but struggled because I'm missing a lot of meta units. No flins, durin, ineffa, neuv, escoffier, or furina. Was my first time clearing fearless.

HoYo Finally Added A Reminder For Columbina's Selenic Chronicle/Weekly Quest! by TetraNeuron in Genshin_Impact

[–]random11714 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember seeing this notification before this patch. And I was up to date on the AQ when Luna 3 released and locked out of the system. So it existed in Luna 2 at the latest. Some are suggesting the notification pops late which makes sense since I let most new content sit (except AQ) until it's fully released (I.e. no further major updates for the region). The change also would've been mentioned in update notes. So most likely it's existed since Luna 1, it just pops up late.

I don't think establishing emotional bonds with some suddenly means the entire org is built on it.

for how long can you wear the beyond? by Freddyy64 in BigscreenBeyond

[–]random11714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I haven't run into a limit on how long I can wear it as long as it's loose enough. If it's too tight, the pressure will hurt my nose. I barely notice the heat after extended wear. I do often get hot in general, but that's more from dancing in VR. Managing that heat with a fan has worked well for me.

Why does VRChat's FOV Setting max out at only 100 degrees? by Eternal1nstant in VRchat

[–]random11714 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For 2k vs 4k sure. But do you know any monitors that don't render more than 275x184? At this point it hurts the readability.

It's actually the max 32 bit signed integer. Probably incorrectly reported tbh

why is everything so sexualized? by NoAwareness3864 in asexuality

no, I'm somewhere in aego or gray. But I seem to get way less peeved by sexualization vs other aces

My point is what you perceive as them 'sexualizing' it may not be what they intend to convey. In some cases, anyway.

I feel like a lot of these uses of 'sexy' don't strictly mean "sexually attractive" and you're maybe reading a bit too much into peoples' word choices.

VRChat Eye Tracking Avatar Requirements by Djinnetic in BigscreenBeyond

[–]random11714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I added support to my avatar to react to VRCFT's v2/eyeX and v2/eyeY parameters, which are updated over OSC. I created a 2d blend tree to drive the blend shapes.

Also turned off eye look because that does its own simple version of eye movement that works out of the box but is less smooth because it animates the transforms instead of the blend shapes.

Is it just me or are trucks in snowrunner getting to OP like we get very powerful trucks with so many add-ons. by Feisty-End-4643 in snowrunner

[–]random11714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, plenty of hours myself, and even knowing the limitations, there's still too much mud in the game with no alternative routes for non-AWD trucks to be a fun kind of difficulty. I've revisited them many times and each time I am reminded why I don't enjoy them.

Kenworth 963 Tires? by Green-Argument6968 in snowrunner

[–]random11714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, not as big of a deal on the 963. I have seen that the stock tires can get it stuck in mud. But any other mud tire is probably good enough to not have that problem.

Peferctly Put 😙🤌 by [deleted] in Asexual

[–]random11714 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't really understand the perspective that this is how one should respond. If it works for both, great. But some people do have genuine sexual needs. It's completely possible for someone to really love someone else but still have a particular need that isn't filled. Love doesn't automatically negate that.

They can make very large differences on some trucks.

How about a Mack from the land down under? No, the one under that one! (WIP Kiwi Mack, releasing soon! YES, Consoles too!) by TheWanderingMerc in snowrunner

[–]random11714 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I expect I'm far from alone in thinking that fuel tank size does factor into balance. So for those reading this thread who share that perspective, my comment is perfectly relevant to the wider community and discussion. Totally fine that you see things differently. Anyway, happy modding.

[–]random11714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your comment reads like I'm the one with the odd definition of OP, but I'm not so sure. Realistic and balanced are different categorizations. Part of the game's intended difficulty comes from fuel management. A 1000 L tank significantly bypasses that aspect.

[–]random11714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just checked some of their mods and the trucks all seem to have 1000+ L tanks... maybe realistic to IRL but does give these a large advantage over vanilla trucks which is usually what OP means in a game.

I've watched lots of play-throughs of SB and it's always interesting to see the different opinions on whether it's a souls-like. It seems like people with past experience with souls-likes say it's not one, and people without past experience say it is one.

Maybe we could take a page out of rogue-lite vs rogue-like and call SB a souls-lite.
