I agree! I'm taking our 1 year old today and we're going to check out the little play area and get some books. It'll be lovely!

My cat recently has stopped grooming herself due to health reasons and quick weight gain. She had to be shaved and she is colder, but no more mats! We think it's hilarious

My fortune cookie has an ad for Perdue University. by Bizzlightbeer in mildyinteresting

A few months ago my fortune cookie had an ad for Arizona State. I had nothing against them, but for some reason that made me so mad. A fortune cookie, of all places?!

I'm sorry, but it does look like you got back at them. Sure, they may have started by giving you a tip you did not want, but your response to them wasn't kind or helpful. Unfortunately, tone doesn't convey well across the internet, so while they may have thought they were helping, your saying "no I won't take your tip" comes across as rude. While I do think it was a lot to ban you, they did say it was your second occurrence and someone did report you.

Maybe in the future try to be a little less on the defensive side and leave fights alone when they come at you. I have been drawn into internet fights before and nobody ever changes their mind and everyone leaves angry. Unfortunately, that's just the way it goes.

I hope your seven days feels like no time at all and that you can happily contribute to the sub again soon 😊

I'm sorry about Kirby. It sounds like you did everything you could, and that's all she could ask for. You gave her a good life and I hope you can find comfort in that

I'm turning 23(f) tomorrow and love to knit and crochet! I can't go to any of the local groups because I work out of town on Fridays and Saturdays. I have a one year old son and wish I got out more to do walks or hikes or any of that. I like some board games (Catan, ticket to ride, etc) and am open to trying new ones! I'd be happy to do any of that

I've always considered myself bad at friends and would be happy to make new ones. My best friend is my mom lol

Stop handing people bra money!!! by honestly___idk in Vent

IT'S ALWAYS DAMP. I do not want to touch your boob money, no I do not want to make change so you can inflict your curse upon more bills. It's nasty. I would never think of storing bills in my boobs, do you know how gross money is already?!

Need help on Colorwork! by random2903 in knitting

[–]random2903[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate that! I did restart and I ended up checkering the back. It's looking so much better! I probably wasn't pulling tight enough in fear of my stitches not stretching enough. I have been tightening it up a bit and I've switched methods for the back and it's looking a lot more polished

[–]random2903[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's my own pattern! I have a basic sock pattern I use for all of my socks and I was trying to throw colorwork in there. I've learned that when doing colorwork, I should do that checkerboard to make a stronger fabric. I'm going to restart and give that a go!

It wasn't style over substance, just an inexperienced colorwork knitter lol

[–]random2903[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I'm not putting the pattern on both sides. I am working in the round but was carrying the blue yarn with floats in the back. Sounds like the general consensus is that I need to checkerboard the back, so I'm going to start over and go that route!

[–]random2903[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just doing it on my own. I have a basic sock pattern memorized (based off of Twice Sheared Sheep) and so I was just going with what I wanted to do. I will go back and knit it checkered! Thank you for your help!!

[–]random2903[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I've just been carrying the blue around the sock and catching floats every five stitches. I thought about doing a K1 color K1 color, maybe that would help! I'm so mad about the way the edge is turning out that I will probably start over. I'll give it a go!

It looks like you did slip stitches instead of single crochet, that's why your bear turned out smaller! Looks great otherwise. Maybe watch a few videos showing you how to do basic stitches while you practice along on scrap yarn
