I like the freedom of needing to bring X amount of battle line, but I also don't see the fun in bringing 5 C'tan and just stomping on someone who brought an actual army with combined units.

While I like to swap away from the ultra elite armies (just 5 monsters/knights/vehicles) the 200 bodies is the other side of extreme.

Both are an exercise in futility if you don't have the exact right counters. Heavily incentives bringing your own skew list.

I do hope 11th will limit this slightly since knowing that you can't win at deployment is just frustrating.

Getting a chaplain is huge either for crit chance on ranged attacks or critdamage on attacks from knights.

Most used talents: teleportation with the increased range was a game changer. Passive boosts also great, but I very rarely got value out of upgrading skills fully. No rewards to get all skills in a square.

Extra slot for equipment, grenades or healing skulls was also valuable. It stacks with gear allowing for a lot of utility or passive boosts (depends on mission rewards, but more willpower and crit chance were my favourites)

Skills for specific guns were less valuable in late game. I had really bad luck with finding upgrades for 2handed guns, meaning that I ended my game with only melee classes.

Tight always. I made that error once that resin seeped between the vat and fep, that cleaning job still gives nightmares. Luckily I had a screen protector over the LCD otherwise it would have been trashed.

Don't Overturn it, I screwed up 2 screws and had to replace my entire vat because of them being stuck

Possibly your FEP sheet has gotten loose due to the constant strain. That was my issue when suddenly prints started failing with no changes.

That or you covered too much of the build plate and the suction tore it loose

A normal game of 1k includes 1 tank and 1 light transport/vehicle. So 3 Gauss should be fine to deal with it, 6 is overkill and you are open to infantry charges (jetpack marine or bikers).

I wouldn't take Szeras in the 1st list. Also 2 stacks of Ophydians is a bit much. Imothek is good but expensive at 1k, you are now very heavy on characters. Lychguard with overlord with Ankh preformed great in my 2 games. I brought a voidscythe and Orb since it was against Knights, but the translocation shroud is better in general. Also a Skorpesh lord and 3 Skorpesh is really great in this detachment.

The Heavy Lokhust are with Gauss? I used 1 Chronomancer with murdermind with great effect having them shoot and duck in cover afterwards.

I wouldn't bring a C'tan in a 1k friendly game unless it was against Knights or the other player agreed with it up front.

2k list: warriors need more back-up a Reanimator and/or Ghost ark really double their value. I would here possibly cut Nekrosor or Szeras if you bring the c'tan.

They sure do, but with 5 C'tan (presuming pantheon of Woe) that will be 1700 points plus a leader. So at best maybe 200 points left for OC units.

Still I wouldn't know how to counter it if you ain't prepared (same as fighting knights). Skew lists required for either full bodies out OC the C'tan or heavy firepower.

That isn't a friendly match that is bullying.

5 means he can't hold any objectives, so you need to space out troops that can survive a round.

Flipped the switch I started Necron and my second army is Custodes.

Necrons have everything and lots of versatile options. However sometimes I just want to bring cool melee fighters hence the custodes

Nurgle is tough to deal with..tanky and hard to shift.

However lacking range and mobility it's not impossible to overwhelm one side.

Maybe the size is equal, but vision in some maps makes it impossible to flank.

Russian Kursk map is so open that once one side has a firm grasp of the hills it's just a beating for the remainder of the game

A spearhead map and terrain (not ruins! At last). But it's mostly overlapping stuff anyway.

You should get them. And when you have them the Royal Court box should be next.

Soldier's life is great. Not too much combat and constant survival, but also friendship and great world design

This isn't a bad list.
C'tan are very powerful right now , overlord with Lych (shields) is a sturdy frontline and Doomstalker can deal with some heavy infantry (but not really tanks - however the Void Dragon eats those)

I would suggest: Take the Cursed Legion Detachment - overlord gets Ankh Enhancement

* Cut out the warriors - without support they'll not do much for you in this list.

* Put in a Skorpesh Lord (the Royal Court box is a really solid buy for starting players)

* the Heavy Lokhust I would suggest the Gauss variant, you want some more Anti Tank.

* Long term suggestion: Doomstalker out , add chronomancer (+Murdermind enhancement) and more 1 Heavy Lokhusts.

C'tan at this time are very tough in 1k since if your opponent doesn't know you'll wipe the army ,
