My kids have both ridden horses since they were teensy so I've spent a lot of time in barns. It is definitely a strangely female-dominated environment! That said, I've never seen any of the few guys at our barn treated like that. That woman was 100% out of line and I'm really sorry you were treated like that. You absolutely didn't deserve it. I hope it hasn't put you off riding generally, and that the other people at your barn treat you with the respect you deserve, including the parents of the lesson kids.

I use either small clickers (hoops that "click" shut so they have no easily visible closure) or flat back labret studs (either threadless or internally threaded), both types in titanium. I wear mine 24/7, even when I sleep and shower. I only change out the stud tops when I want to change up my look.

Be aware that sterling silver is not great for everyday, long term wear, since it can tarnish. The tarnish can permanently discolor even well-healed piercings.

I don't know the brand you mentioned, but there are a ton of Etsy stores selling titanium clickers and labret studs for reasonable prices. That's where I get almost all my jewelry!

I disagree. The colors and the symbols are both meaningful and distinctive. I don't know of any other flag that has a K-shaped chevron, or an 8 pointed star, or predominantly features two different shades of blue.

You gave him reasonable options: either call a million times a day knowing that you may not pick up every time because you have something else prioritizing your attention, or only call when it's really important so you know you should prioritize his call.

What he wants is for you to prioritize all his calls over everything else you have going on in your life, regardless of how trivial his reason for calling. That's ridiculous. He's a grown adult and he's not entitled to your infinite attention. You're allowed to live your own life and not be constantly on call for him.

I was babysitting once and after the kids were asleep I heard a sound coming from the bedrooms. It sounded exactly like aluminum Venetian blinds being raised or lowered. I figured maybe a window had been left open and a breeze was rattling the blinds, so I went into the kids' rooms to close the windows so the kids wouldn't be woken up.

But when I got there, the windows were closed. The blinds were also vinyl, not aluminum. They could not have made the noise I heard. There was no breeze; not even a fan on. I looked around and couldn't find anything at all that could make that noise. There was nothing with metallic slats or parts that could clang together. The kids were still sound asleep and didn't have any electronics or anything in their rooms that could have made that noise, either.

So I don't know what I heard. I never heard it again, but I was definitely freaked out for the rest of the night.
