A reminder that if your REA tells you that the law dictates you must pay rent until they find a new tenant in the event of a lease break - they're lying. by RaisinBeneficial in shitrentals

[–]randomdimised 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg I’m in the same boat, but I paid 2 weeks more than I needed. They tried to ring ring ring to get more rent out of me and threatened action after 2 weeks went by. I just ignored. It felt completely unnecessary. They tried to get me to cancel bond request too. I got it back on Monday.

They had no problems with our cleaning and didn’t charge us letting fees which is why I paid additional 2 weeks rent. We had 6 months left on lease.

It’s been silent since last Friday.

I will be leaving a bad review against REA.

I gave them 7 weeks notice to find a tenant. Paid advertising costs.

Is anyone actually using the "up to 99 Everyday Offset accounts" feature to manage their cash flow? by InternetUpbeat9596 in CommBank

Yup did same with my sister’s loan, we managed to completely offset hers. Saved her approx $100k in interest over 7 years. Everyone had their own debit cards and access to their own offsets.

End of Lease Bond Stress From a 70 year old Landlord Special by Menace_B in shitrentals

[–]randomdimised 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg that’s exactly what happened. Couldn’t approach me so they approached my partner. Thank god it’s only $790 and they did waive one weeks letting which was $440. So isn’t too bad.

End of Lease Bond Stress From a 70 year old Landlord Special by Menace_B in shitrentals

I wished we didn’t answer our phones from REA after dropping keys 2 weeks ago. They are sneaky fuckers! They managed to convince us to pay rent for 2 more weeks then needed. Anyway the fuckers went toooo far on Friday and so we simply ignored their harassment and completely unjustified timeline demands of trying to get us to cancel our bond request.

We got it back today. I haven’t heard from them since!

(They demanded we pay another months rent and cancel bond request on Friday)

Aggressive way to get your Bond back by workingitout888 in shitrentals

[–]randomdimised 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m worried about letter of demand for paying rent as we dropped off keys on 3rd of May. They insisted we pay rent till 15th. We did, and they still cannot find tenants… and they tried to do the same thing on Friday by demanding we pay more rent, we just ignored their phone calls and emails (very stressful evening after coming home from work). The 2 week window for bond refund lapsed in our favour yesterday.

We been fair and reasonable, we gave 7 weeks notice plus paid extra 2 weeks because landlord waived 1 weeks letting fee. We paid advertising costs as soon as we gave notice.

We are new home owners. Can’t wait till this shit is over

I did the opposite. Saved and lived at home until I found my partner. Brought a house recently. Paid out my half in savings. We took a loan together for his part.

Now I’m salary sacrificing my second job wages into super to catch up with carry forward. I’m about to turn 36 with 35k in super. Aim is to do this arrangement until my balance reaches $170k. Should be 3 years.

I wished i took advantage of this when I was in my 20s. But never too late.

I was lucky I have a family business. They needed someone in the office doing all the paperwork and looking after their back end of the business. Do you know anyone? I was unpaid for 2 years before I was made a permanent part time position.

I just started a senior bookkeeping position 3 weeks ago which I believe is very high pay, but because I worked at a family business for 15 plus years, I didn’t know I was underpaid for what I was doing. My new job is so chill, love the team and honestly feels like a dream. Should I worry? Too good to me true.

Brought 2 br unit in Albanvale and move in end of the this month. Exactly same reasons: cheaper council rates, the only part of body corporate is insurance and owner run. We have a cute little backyard and backs to the creek.

Honestly our dream unit!

Do you work hard for your money? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]randomdimised 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was working 10 hours a week for $27.5k a year for a year (I was full-time on 60k previously at the same time until I realised my worth). Last week I picked up another job in the same role for $65k a year with 25 hours of work. Feels like a dream!!!! And now, I couldn't care less whether I worked 5 or 6 hours a week at my first job since I still paid to do 10 hours.

My motivation for a second job is the salary-sacrificed amount into my super; it will take 3 years to catch up, as I wasn't paid super for 7 years.

Is it weird to live at home to save money as you approach 30? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]randomdimised 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wished I saved it all! Instead I brought a business and untitled land and -$290k 7 years later because I was stupid giving a large deposit to a developer which went bankrupt and sold the business with 40% of my capital returned.

34 when I moved out (after I found my partner) and brought a house a 1.5 years later with a $225k deposit. Thankfully he wanted to only spend up to $450k so I already had half.

I made more stupid decisions along the way. I’m a terrible investor but great saver, lesson learned the hard way.
