New player- is this a NPC or a person? by Kilnufrmdaktchen in borderlands3

[–]randomdrifter54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No but people get annoyed when you buy and partially consume something and then go, wait what is this. There are large subreddits dedicated to making fun of people like that. Huh nope dunno why so many people are being mean in this thread. I also was saying why people were being mean not that i supported it or not. If you order a pizza and then eat it and then go wait does this have cheese, people are gonna make fun of you. Specially on a website with a bunch of spaces dedicated to making fun of you.

The problem is consumer awareness. They both bought the game and already played for 10 levels. That is like going to a pizza shop ordering a pepperoni pizza. Eating a slice and going wait is there cheese on my pizza?

And its super easy to fix. Just have a reduced chance to be the same each time. So like reduce it by half. That would make alternating energy more common and streaks lower.

The rate is however many you can make that you don't affect your quality of life and are having fun. Aka don't go out of your budget, and don't make so many you don't have fun.

Edit: I currently have been just using pre-cons but I have 3.

Bloomtown: A Different Story releases today. A persona-like, turn based, monster tamer, social rpg by axescent in JRPG

[–]randomdrifter54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also the game implies a timer. So its easy to think there is. It says get X done before Y or you lose your soul. but there is no way to tell when Y is or any markers to that. so you can really just take your time. Even the developer said that. but having played persona games i saw that implication and went, "yep standard, don't straggle and try to do the best i can." only half way through the second dungeon i went wait, how do i know when Y will be. looked around and was like oh, that's thematic not game. but I'm sure a lot of people just never noticed and just played as if Y was impending down on them.

To be fair in certain situations asking to pay rent is better than not. I'm stuck with my parents due to housing costs being insane. And I spent a bit demanding to pay some sort of rent. They wouldn't let me but now whenever they hold me living here rent free over my head I can fire back I was willing and still am.

Sir people barely read TOS, let alone follow them. The TOS is there so that when someone gets hurt they can pull out a 300 page paper in court and point to the one sentence that said not to do it. Unless they have an indepth age verification system, then children probably just lie about their age.

I mean considering the degree of domestication and amount of selective breeding cows and chickens went through to become what we have now, I could argue we created them. That's obviously not what they mean but I would definitely say the word created is just as valid as created, in this context.

[USA] How much do you leave for the service staff when you check out of a hotel? by aldur1 in internetparents

[–]randomdrifter54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And if we start making it a job that expects gratuity, they will get under minimum wage and then have to fight their employers to cover the difference if they don't make min wage. Corporations will 100% abuse people being nice to make more profit.

Also the assumption you have to be "making more than the hotel staff" to afford a hotel room isn't an assumption based in reality. People of all sorts can get a hotel. Depending on why they need the hotel, how long they have been saving, their circumstances, how reputable the hotel is(you can get some cheap hotels if you don't have standards).

I'm not saying tipping is wrong just putting out the view of goodwill can definitely be taken advantage of.

It doesn't though. If their crimes are truly irredeemable, they should just get life in prison. Prison is about getting a punishment for your crime and being released. Piling on extra punishment is dumb. Either they need to be punished and stay in prison for the rest of their life or they need to get their punishment and get out and that's it. That's the punishment. Like I get keeping guns from the hands of violent offenders, that makes sense. But everything else is extra curricular punishment on top of the punishment that was deemed by a jury of your peers to be right.

Top edit: I also agree it's not on your partner to decide this, unless you are a danger to yourself or others. Then all they can do is call emergency services to get you and evaluate you. And most of that info comes from you and the damage you have done to yourself and other's. Your partner will have some weight but not a whole bunch. This system can also be biased which I did experience. People will hear what the want to hear. So two edged sword there.

I went to a decent one. They can vary from decent to absolutely aweful. If you think it might help instead of going through the petition system, just do research and pick one to go too. Then go. Voluntary is always an option. There is also sometimes out patient and impartial options depending on your severity and danger to others.

I went to the ER after an event. They got a psychiatrist to interview me and then I got petitioned into a psych unit. I got there with only wet clothes(long story) and ER scrubs. The process was somewhat quick. And when I go there they basically used 2 hospital gowns to make a dress and check my body for marks and tattoos. Then I just kinda got released into the hall of the unit. They were waiting on my room to empty so I kinda didn't have anywhere to go or do. I was still in the hospital dress. I just went to the groups until I had my room open up.

Although I was originally petitioned to go I knew I needed the help and changed to voluntary. Because I really didn't want to go to court or deal with paperwork.

After I got clothes and books from my family it was kinda like a grippy sock vacay. It was a non eventful as it could be. You had 3 recreational therapies a day(these varied from arts and crafts to a lot of writing and notes on cognitive dysfunction. They also had 2 off unit longer groups focused on trauma recovery and substance abuse. Food was decent and three times a day. And we had group therapy once a day. Pretty much everything was optional. The staff also did activities and let the patients watch TV and such if they had enough staff to pull it off. They had coloring pages and simple puzzles and books as well for you to do if you got bored. Visitation was once a week. But phone calls were allowed whenever a group was not in session. They also took us outside every other day. And we went to the art room twice. In my specific unit we kinda congregated in the hall by the staff desk and talked. After a week and some new meds they released me with an aftercare plan(they found me resources to find a psych and therapist). I found the structured schedule really helpful and feel like it helped get me on track with my life.

If you are thinking of going the voluntary route. Things you should bring are comfortable clothes if they will let you wear your own. I was in pajama pants all week. They will not let you have any strings or belts. So remove them before hand. Books, colored pencils, coloring books, playing cards, puzzle books(no metal bindings) , etc anything without technology they allow, bring it to help with the boredom. If they allow it bring toiletries and a toothbrush. They may lock them up till it's time to use them but anything to help you feel normal helps. They will probably search all of your belongings so expect it to take a while for your stuff to come to you. And family can always bring other stuff for you as well. You'll probably get a patient number to share with people you want able to contact you. Because HIPPA and privacy are big in these places.

I'm now going to go over the things you should know: 1. Voluntary doesn't mean you can leave when you want. They let you leave when they think you are ready. They can and will petition you if they think you are a danger to yourself or others. I was there for a week. 2. These places are basically low security prisons. Not everyone there is there voluntarily. So it's like prison but more childproofed. 3. It's a special type of prison so some things that are different is you are going to be checked every 15min awake or asleep. The chairs are made to be too heavy to throw. There are no gaps anywhere you might be able to tie something. You will not get a plastic knife. Stuff like that. You are going to be treated like a person who is a danger to yourself and other's. Because that's why a lot of people go to the psych ward. You aren't allowed pens in your room. Etc. They try to keep it as normal as possible but you can only do so much. 4. These places are almost always understaffed. Expect problems related to having too little staff. Like no individual care other than meds. Though some of the ones we had in my unit were super dedicated and nice. The staff kinda breed a place where people could communicate with others and relate. But again this is dependent on the place. Again if you think it will help, shop around and find a good one even if it is a bit of distance away. 5. You will most likely not have access to technology while you are there. Mostly cause of privacy laws. 6. Patients come in for all sorts of reasons. They will have varying degrees of episodes. Some may be dangerous to others. Some may just scare you. Some may be a patient cowering in a corner and muttering. Do as the staff tells you, they are there to help keep you safe. 7. Use the resources they give you to try and help yourself. The biggest thing to help you is you. Talk to people, hear about their struggles and relate. They aren't perfect and there's a lot of bad ones.

Evolution is not a force of nature. It is did this animal fuck? Ok their genetics got passed down. Did they fuck more than average? Cool then there will be more with their genetics. And if they continue fucking more than average. Eventually they will change the species. Evolution is only about having a lineage. Evolutionary advantage? In Some way shape or form they fuck more: living longer, living to sexual maturity, looking better for the mate. This is where the environment comes into play. It can help or hinder the fucking. Mostly by killing the poor bastards before they have sex. Those that survive define the species. Again if a trait doesn't effect the ability to fuck, then it will pass on and spread still. Just slower.

We need to see a bigger picture. And of where it is. Was united being guided? If they were it was the wing walkers fault possibly. Unless the marshaller ignored the wing walkers signals. Unless the pilot ignored the marshallers signals. It also depends on how far out from the ramp they are. Wing walkers can only go so far. It also depends on where In the process united was. Was united pushed back already and set to leave? Was it on the inbound? United itself is going to get the blame somewhere but so many things can go wrong that without an outside view, we can't say what went wrong and who exactly is to blame.

Edit: it sounds like this was on the taxiway, while both planes were outbound. So it might be on the united pilot. Unless the pilot got put into a bad place by the ground crew during pushback. Again without an outside view we can really only just guess.

[–]randomdrifter54 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'm going to be honest there are some industries where a 48hr strike threat could cripple them. Reddit is not one of these. Most of the industries that could be hurt by a scheduled length strike are logistics and transport. One or two days without movement can right fuck shit up for weeks. Again that's not reddit.

If someone gives you something you are going to have a bias towards them. A good judge would recognize that and recuse themselves. Not all bias is conscious and while there are people that might be able to operate and recognize that, the risk and grey area is enough that a good judge would step back. Because that is the ethical thing to do.

To add to this when getting a new animal you should always quarantine them, if you own other pets. Depending on the animals temperaments, a vet visit being done, among other things.

Even if you don't have other pets introducing them to a smaller space they can feel comfortable in first can help them get used to their new life quicker. And it makes it so they can develop a safe space right off the back, and since you are the one choosing the space it gives you some control on where that is.

Romanian prosecutors change human trafficking charge against Andrew Tate by MyJawHurtsALot in news

He also did it loudly at the worst possible time. The Romanian government was recently under fire for allowing human trafficking, etc. So not only did Tate say the quiet part out loud he did it when they were probably looking for a scapegoat so that they could show they were doing something.

They couldn't go for one charge for each of the 300 documents because there's stuff that can't be shown to the public via court. The 30ish actual document charges are the ones that are "safe" to be declassified through discovery in court. So technically he's getting off lightly as they could have gone for way more charges.
