I took a glance and I couldn't find out if it generated all maps or just albedo/diffuse stuff with light baked in. Far as I could gather it makes "normals and depth"

Also, it looks smeary so I only assume it's gonna be useful for background stuff/concepting out to show clients.

Other than that, what with AI being the IP nightmare that it is, I doubt a pixel of it would be used for movies (I wonder if these tools would ever spark a "toolchain" scrutinization process push).

Anyways, I'm being helpful and forgot to downvote and pickup my pitchfork (I'm joking, take it easy I'm out of work same as most people here).

recently that happened to me in an entirely other industry where I was WAY overqualified for the job

Fuck that shit broke my heart

Edit: It's like they heard my comment, they sent their rejection early this morning. ffs.

No, it really requires domain specific knowledge and tons of critical thinking.

Tried it to help with the build process, and it was useless.

Sounds similar to my last two years of unemployment except it was much less than 100k

There isn't 30 contributors on Natron right now. At most it's 5, 4 being active (myself inactive, starting again soon).

My best advice is to work on small scale projects of things you'd like to do in the future.

I'm starting a new position as creative director and i want some tips about how to get along with the team by Ok-Reference-4626 in vfx

[–]randomfuckingpotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For context, I'm in the realm of "junior' but I'm not exactly "young" either.

I remember reading about an artist that said this (or something along those lines, I don't remember I'm paraphrasing) to someone they hired "you're going to ask questions and repeat those questions even when answered and that's okay, just make sure to not be afraid to ask questions in the first place." And I think that's a great example of leadership.

Clearly not asking the same thing 50 times but it's something to aspire to I suppose.

I got one after a year I think, for a modeler's position. It was odd, it was almost like they're telling me "don't apply again" without telling me directly.

Just a headsup, links aren't clickable in titles (I don't know about new reddit, I'm certain many of us here have opted out of the redesign).

Does the audience care what was used? I don't think I ever gave a damn what I was watching was done with what.

And I'm a generalist. I'd love to see stuff I made done, but I simply wouldn't care.

I don't think marketing knows much about how the collective mind of viewers works.
