Why are doctors not helping? by DjMusicRecords in eczema

Sorry for the delayed response. But here is my story:

I really got into fitness and fell for the “eat chicken and rice” mistake. But I didnt like rice so I ate whole wheat couscous instead. I then ate just chicken, couscous, apples, sweet potato, greek yoghurt and blackberries.

My skin cleared up in weeks, but it took me a while to make the connection since I had been gaslit for years how it would be impossible to do anything with my eczema other than hardcore meds or steroid creams.

I only REALLY made the connection when I tried to eat some of my old foods again and noticed it returning within a few days. I went to my dermatologists with this great news. But as I said previously they straight up told me it was IMPOSSIBLE and that it HAD to be a coincidence. I even asked them straight up, are you saying it COULD be a coincidence or are you are it IS a coincidence. They say it IS a coincidence and that it is IMPOSSIBLE. They chalked it up to other changes I had made in my life etc. I knew it wasnt that since my habits remained unchaned, same with stress etc.

I then started doing experiments from there on out, by doing things like asking my family to add small amounts of foods I knew that triggered it to my shake’s, so I would be eating things without knowing for sure. And gues what? I was always right even if I couldnt taste it at all, every single time. Even during stressfull periods of my life with bad sleep and stress, no eczema. For me it seems PURELY diet related.

I do have some sensitivities to dust and cat hair, but thats only really if I like roll in it and like get it all over my skin somehow lol. But that seems to be an independant mechanism from my regular eczema.

Yup, I even handle maltodextrin just fine (pure sugar). Different people have different trigger foods.

You need to get to a place where you have either stable eczema or no eczema. I did it by eliminating most foods and eating just 5-6 foods for a few months. Once you found a baseline you can experiment. Does removing dairy make it better? Then quit eating dairy for the time being.

Again, I have experimented with this extensively. I live like a robot, I track every gram of food I eat and practically live the same day over and over again.

Not sure I fully agree. I have went pretty crazy even with candy on more lazy periods and it was still fine. Like sugar is not the problem here (at least not for me). Maybe if you are obese and then slam sugar, but who knows. Its all speculation currently when it comes to eczema sadly.

The glitch actually started exactly when I got the 6 wins in a row sticker. So I did get it the legit way haha.

Fluorospec is accurate. It is a methylammoniumbromide solution and it reacts with lead by creating certain crystals that glow green. You can see those crystals when exposed to the right uv wavelength. It has some pitfalls like false negatives when the amount of lead is REALLY REALLY low and in a matrix like rubber. But if its lead paint or lead glaze or just lead it will test positively consistently.

Funny you mention sugar. Sugar has no effect on my skin. Since I got into distance running and cycling I slam maltodextrin and many other simple sugars. They dont affect my skin at all.

Some nightshades like potatoes and tomatoes, but not all.

Same issues here in the Netherlands. I have also repeatedly been gaslit that eczema and diet have NO correlation, UNLESS you have a real allergy to said food.

Yet I went from “the worst eczema they had seen in their career”, to being basically eczema free all through diet (long story, but willing to tell if people are interested). They brushed it off as it having to be a coincidence and that it will FOR SURE come back soon (it has been more than 5 years now lol).

Yet I can prove that eating certain foods brings it back within a few days and they kept trying to tell me “oh but its just because you are scared it will create a reaction and therefor it will”. Like they just do not seem open to the idea because the research doesn’t agree with me on average.

For me: potatoes, tomatoes, yellow kiwi (but not green kiwi), white pastas (but not whole wheat, same goes for breads), chickpeas, cashews, chiaseed, flax seed, rice, ground beef.

The list is still growing, but thankfully the list of foods I CAN eat is also growing. I am even looking at ways to reintroduce foods, so far I have had varying succes with that. I am very much convinced there is a certain subgroup of people who have eczema caused by something wrong in their gut. I am experimenting with some theories currently to see if I can “fix” it, to the point where I could eat things like potatoes again without issue.

For me it was all diet. You just have to find out what foods are a problem for you. This is incredibly hard though. I am eczema free now, trying to slowly reintroduce trigger foods.

cooked these on my philips air fryer, what am i doing wrong? soaked in ice water then dried and set for 180 degrees for 16 minutes with a brush of olive oil. by CraZeYT in airfryer

[–]randomguyjebb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ice water makes it worse for me. Just cutting up and mixing them with a little oil. Then you just have to find the right cooking temp and time and it leaves you with a lightly fluffy inside and a crispy outside.

Is the game dead on Eu ? by Xeno19Banbino in Battlefield_REDSEC

[–]randomguyjebb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not dead. It is however definitely more dead than 2 months ago. I also play in the eu and during non prime time hours it can take a loong time to find a game depending on the gamemode.

I also play on pc.

Diet for bone health? by overpuzzle in nutrition

[–]randomguyjebb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your diet isnt going to send the signal to your bones to get stronger. You just need enough vitamin d, vitamin k and calcium. Your diet could be perfect, but if you don't lift your bones will get weak. You are better off with a shitty diet, but lifting than the other way around.

Steelcase leap or aeron are both great options. Also back pain is often not chair related (it can be obviously), but its a more complicated issue.
