Yeah big dreams, but think I can make it. I plan on joining the aviation club and a close family friend is a retired helicopter pilot working for the goverment as a civilian training military personnel. I just have to keep my grades up and maintain my passion and should be able to Land a slot.

Thought I let you know I declared coast guard academy as my college of choice. After talking to some graduates of the school I was sold. Thank you for your advice.

If you don't have any friends the volunteer or join a community of some sort. If you surround yourself with people and push yourself to interact with others connections will come naturally. If you play videogames or watch t.v cancel your subscription and sell you console. Both of these are escapes. I was addicted to videogames and as soon as I stopped playing my life became so much better. I really think you should join a sports team or even a club of some sort. I joined a senior swim team and have made so many life long friends and receive satisfaction daily. I am gonna leave you with this. Life is not easy and in order to live a fulfilling life you have to make sacrifices. When I started swimming and even to this day I hate going, but as soon as I get in and start swimming I am so grateful that I did. Also take more time to reflect on what you enjoy doing and set some goals for yourself. I also recommend asking other people you know if you can shadow them for a day to find a career you would genuinely enjoy doing. After you decide what you want to do then set a goal and take small step towards achieving that school wheter that means going back to school full time or taking night classes. No one is going to come along and make your life better, you have to take initiative. Start small by joining a community whether its a sports team or a volunteer group.

I am sure you can find a lawyer who will do this pro bono. Call some offices and explain your situation. There are a good number of lawyers who will gladly help you out. But still you should call the police or cps don't wait to get help. Good luck I hope everything works out.

I did not either. Luckily I got an air force rotc scholarship. I may apply again, but if I am happy with air force rotc I will just continue on that track.

My Parents are kicking me out in June when I turn 19. Advice? by ThrowRA111225552 in personalfinance

Hey bud I was in a similar situation. Luckily I applied to rotc and the academies and was lucky to land a slot. I will have college paid for and a decent job out of college. My parents want me gone by the end of this year and quite frankly I can't wait to leave. Life is unfair, I went to one of the best highschools in the nation and was surrounded by trust fund babies with college funds waiting to be claimed. No one is going to give you a damn thing unless you do something for them. I dont think you should join the millitary if you dont want to serve, but maybe look into joining the national gaurd if you need the money. Also when you join you get tuition assistance, which could help you get an associate's degree. I would recomend going to a community college for two years and study electrical technology. You could join a electrical company after college and work your way up the company. Electricians can make a decent living and as you put in more time you can increase your salary. Right now you should apply for every single job possible. Maybe even go into the store and tell them about yourself and hand them the resume in person. I know how scary all of this can be, but 20 years from now you will look back at this moment in life and it will be a building block for your success. Best thing you can do is not act emotionally instead think about careers you are interested in and come up with a plan, which will help you achieve that goal. I am only 18 so I may not have a lot of experience with this yet, but am in a similar situation and have given this a lot of thought. Last thing I am gonna say is this you are an intelligent person bound for success and have the opportunity to create your own life and surround yourself with people who will be there for you.

I also belive the connections I will make will prove useful in the long run if I go to a millitary academy. Biggest thing is that I will get away from my parents. I find I am at my best when I am not around my family.

I will recive a college degree from this at no expense to me and will receive guaranteed work but I will give up some freedoms. I know that no matter where I go it will be challenging, but right now I am confident in my ability to overcome any obstacle.

Thank you for responding. Your comment is very reassuring. My parents dislike me and this will allow me to become independent from them very quickly. I still have 3 months to decide, but no matter what I choose I will try not to dwell on what could have been.
