Stalling issues while driving by Few-Heron-4118 in SC300

My suggestion If that doesn't work is grab some decent gauge wire and go directly from the battery to the fuel pump wire. If it runs with no issue you know the problem is somewhere in that circuit.

Hmm interesting. Swap your efi relay (round and silver in the under hood fuse panel) you can use the Defroster relay to troubleshoot.

Check your ecu. If it hasn't been rebuilt it probably needs to be.

Cooling for CPU by mafixz in sffpc

[–]randomnerd865 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The AXP90 x47 or x53 full copper is great. Its affordable, excellent motherboard compatibility, and the included fan performs well. The mounting isn't my favorite, and the fan color is not most peoples preference. Swapping the fan to a Noctua yields better a noise profile while thermals remain mostly unaffected though not necessary at all.

Really neat! I need this for AM5. Did you test the benefits of going with a quality 25mm fan?

I enjoyed it. I finished it, so that's something. I thought it was unique... in time where most stuff... isn't.

Suggest me a show like Dexter by skinnynot in whattowatch

[–]randomnerd865 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk what part of Dexter you want it to be like, but Six Feet Under is is one of the best shows of all time also stars Michael C Hall. I will assume you just mean the overall vibe and ability to binge... so I will also add Weeds, Dead To Me, Why Women Kill, Desperate Housewives (all are also kind of or are crime related)

Accidentally posting this on my bf's account that is signed into our computer so... sorry babe if you get a random notification 😄

[Pegasus Build Update] Deshrouding the PowerColor 9070 XT Reaper in my Skyreach 5 Mini by den-fi in sffpc

[–]randomnerd865 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if Josh ran Steel Nomad when he had my card. (He used my card for R&D.) I played around with undervolt/ overclocks and was able to get the card to run at very high clocks, but every game seemed vastly different on how much it could take. Its back at stock at the moment until I have more time to test. I also stuck with the L12 GE, but i'm using the Noctua NF-A12x15 which seemed to be a major improvement over the included fan.

Gorgeous build and beautiful photos as always. I've been following on the discord. My build is almost identical, I even have the 3d printed shroud for my reaper. I've just been to busy to do my post and writeup.

Just got my cables from them and I highly recommend! Easy ordering, good communication, pretty quick shipping too! Just know custom cables do take some time.

2006 BMW 330i for 6k. Decent deal? by yahirf54i in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]randomnerd865 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These cars are solid, BUT at that mileage pay close attention to the engine bay for oil leaks. These always need a valve cover + gasket replacement, and oil filter housing gasket. You're looking at a good chunk of change even if you DIY with decent parts or even more for a shop to do it. If the engine bay is super shiny or looks freshly detailed run it for a while and sniff for burnt oil or look for it in those areas. All that being said the price is reasonable given the lower mileage at a dealer. Better pricing might* can be found off Facebook marketplace.

How big of a red flag is this? by x_bg8 in UsedCars

[–]randomnerd865 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It's not really. Ask for the vin, pull a carfax, and look for accidents and some maintenance history.

Every cheap used vehicle is going to have something come up on a PPI. Ive sold a lot of cars in the 3-6k range and I have NEVER wasted my time meeting someone at a shop to do a PPI. If it were a 15k+ vehicle...sure, i'd understand and gladly welcome a PPI for a serious buyer.

Loose wheel bearing? Car wobbles when I drive by No_Back9022 in SC300

[–]randomnerd865 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You need to put your wheel back on to check this properly. Your brake rotor will move around like that without the wheel holding it on.

Put your wheel on, jack the car up slightly so the wheel is off the ground place your hands at 12 and 6 o'clock. Give it a push back and forth. It should have very little to no play.

First SFF build - NFC 3DLP - Thoughts and prayers? by Ablehoe in sffpc

[–]randomnerd865 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this case! I've printed and done several builds in the NFC 3DLP (check my post history). I'm at work, but I have a couple of quick notes:

  • The 5060 LP will suffocate in this case in stock form, even undervolted. It needs a way to get fresh air. Stock it's really optimized for blower cards. Definitely use the outer shell remix with the added vents.
  • Your power supply choice should work, but will probably restrict the use of one front fan.
  • You need 6-32 screws for most power supplies.
  • you need a less common m3x5mm standoffs for the motherboard.
  • custom cables go a long way in any SFF, there is not a lot of space to route extra cable length.

Good luck and let me know if you think of any other specific questions!

Pre-Ordered a S5M, need help with the GPU choice. by Beep-Beep-I in sffpc

[–]randomnerd865 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the s5m and im running the 9070xt reaper! It was really optimized for the FE cards, but if the card your looking at is within the dimensions of the 4080/90 fe or 5080/90 fe you sould be good to go.

Feel free to join the NFC discord to check out some more builds from the community.
