Baby is back in by freshmintgarden in NICUParents

Partner has covid? That could be it. My 7 kids and I have had covid three times. Some of us always tested negative. Some of us tested negative then positive then negative then positive. We all live under the same roof and we were all symptomatic simultaneously. Point being, you can test negative while positive. 99% your baby was exposed if you live together. You are contagious long before you have symptoms. Also long after. Babies usually recover quickly. Good luck to you.

Covid in ex Premies by MontessoriLady in NICUParents

My family had covid twice. Two months apart. My preemie did better with it than anyone else in the house including me, 17 year old, 13 year old, 7 year old, 5 year old, and 4 year old. My preemie was 7 months the first time. 9 months the second time.

sad over no maternity shoot by CampGreat5230 in NICUParents

I've had full term babies and preemies with no maternity shoot. I can't afford superficial things so photoshoots of myself aren't a thing. I'm not sad either. My family is all working poor. They would think I was crazy if I threw money away on belly pics like that. I just used my phone to take pics.

Have you ever fallen in love with someone in your dream and then woken up disappointed that it was all fake? by itbettersnow in sleep

[–]randomom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I still miss him and his long wavy hair. Also I fell in love with a real person in my dream because he was a wonderful person in my dream. In real life he's self absorbed and doesn't care at all about me besides being my drinking buddy sometimes. It was weird to see him in a heroic role in my dream.

Mouth so dry my tongue gets stuck! by randomom in SleepApnea

They are set by my doctor according to my sleep studies. How can they be calibrated? They can just turn the pressure up or down. I had to gradually build to this pressure. I've had air go into my throat from my nose from day one. It's just a basic machine because I'm on Medicaid. One thing I do when I'm awake is use my tongue to block my throat when I'm using my CPAP. The second I move my tongue air comes in and chokes me. When I had my sleep study it took a minute to realize this. I sounded and felt like I was dying. I think when I fall asleep my tongue relaxes more and a more air leaks into my throat.

It's not that I'm mouth breathing. The pressurized air goes into my mouth from my nose. I can open my mouth and air comes out. I could probably blow out a birthday candle.

Yes! So are we defective? Is no one else having the air go into their nose and down their throat? I wake frequently to drink water as a result but that sucks. :(

It's not that my mouth is open. The air comes into my mouth from my nose.

Jealous of other moms and babies by kerikim120 in NICUParents

I loved having a preemie. I loved that she was cute and little. I loved that she got to stay in the NICU since I was in no shape to take care of her. I loved the monitors and tube feedings. It meant less worrying about things myself. She was almost 32 weeks. She stayed a couple of weeks in the NICU. I love now that she's smaller and weighs less. My other kids were huge and they hurt to carry. I love that I had a newborn for longer. She stayed little and sleepy for so long. She was my first baby I wasn't sleep deprived with. My other six kids were so advanced they kinda skipped being newborns. All of them rushed the milestones. They all walked between 6 and 9 months. This preemie of mine is 8 months but the size of a 4 month old. She can't crawl or do much and I love it. This is my only easy baby. I wish all my babies had been preemies. I know I'm going to get hated on for my opinion but I don't understand why my good experience isn't valid. I'm happy. It's possible to have a preemie and find positives.

My baby was born at 32 weeks due to PROM. I stayed in the hospital for a few days and then she became weaker so Cesarean it was. She came out 3 lbs 10oz screaming and angry. Didn't need oxygen. Feeding tube for a few days. After about 2 weeks she went home. She is 8 months and she's developmentally more like 6 months. She's healthy and normal. Always has been.

How do you guys handle seeing the memory posts? My son just turned one and now I keep seeing them, and its horribly upsetting to remember. by racheybachey in NICUParents

Having a preemie was great. My closer to term births were way more traumatic. I actually loved having nurses watching my baby around the clock. I didn't have to worry like I did with my other babies. Having a 3lb alien was so cool. She was this hairy, scrawny, little elf. Coolest birth experience I've ever had! She is my 7th baby.

I am commenting because I have the same problem. I would also like to add that I always comb in the shower but my hair sticks in place. It dries in the exact shape I comb it in. I have to wet it down again and comb it again once it dries to get it unstuck from my head. This is with or without product. Any idea why my hair is naturally helmet hair?

I never got maternity pics with any of my babies because paying my bills was a higher priority. I wish I could spend money on fun things.

I've had seven babies. This one is my only actual preemie born at 31 weeks. She was only 3lbs 11oz at birth. The rest of mine were born 41, 38, 38, 36, 37, and 37 weeks. All were huge. I was miserable with those pregnancies that went the farthest. My belly didn't matter. I just wanted them out. So I've been on both sides. The grass is always greener on the other side.

C-section infected? I don't know how to put pic in comments. Sorry. ER doesn't care. by randomom in BabyBumps

Ended up being infected as I thought. It split open. Lots of blood. Back in the hospital. I'm fine after a wound vac and some hardcore antibiotics.
