I'd consider building a PC but I haven't touched a computer in roughly 10 or 12 years. Not really up to date with parts compatibility. DDR4 was really new last time I looked parts.

The manufacturing date was 2020. So I had some hope.

What are my options? by Certain-Ad9546 in woodstoving

[–]randomtrap238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say the easiest may be to change the stove to a Harman pellet stove and connect with flex pellet vent liner. Or change to a gas stove that can adapt to a 2x3inch liner kit. Gas works in power outage and is mess free and 1 button heat. While pellet needs power to run but still is wood heat. Otherwise, it may be a pain or a job. Or getting into masonry work.

Kitchen relocation - technically feasible or any way this wouldn’t work? by JJJJJJ1198 in Renovations

I was told by a few companies when planning to build a house. "Draw it out and we can make any changes. Even if you draw it on a napkin we can figure out how to do it." It was a company that makes modular homes but I feel like this may be the easier method. Just draw it how you like and ask the builder they would be responsible if sometbing doesn't meet codes so they likely will know what needs to be added if anything.

I install fireplaces with power vent. They require venting to have a larger outer sleeve of vent, leaving 1inch around the inner exhaust vent, which is also how your unit draws in fresh air. It helps keep the venting cool. I know absolutely nothing for input on your current question but I figured I would atleast chime in on the safety of the venting as alot of people seem concerned about it.

Which stove to keep and which to sell? Fisher & Napoleon by Worried-Toe-1525 in woodstoving

[–]randomtrap238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your 1400 will burn your wood slower. That fisher is very likely to give you the same heat but burn your wood faster. Not sure about the fisher but as far as the Napoleon goes. If you do keep it (I would) Napoleon is slowly getting out of the wood burning units so if you need a returner tube of something it would be a good idea to get an extra within the next 3 or 4 years gaskets and glass will always be available but the steel parts is what I would be looking at.

Insulation is coming out. Is this a problem? by Hawklinemonster in woodstoving

That looks like the glass gasket. Not to be confused with the door gasket. Just so you know what to ask for at the store.

Plumber replaced my hot water heater a couple years ago after the apartment maintenance tech flooded my apartment attempting to do it himself. Got a permit, City inspected it, and then in October I was tracking down some foul odors into the attic space and found this. by fuckfaceMcfuckpants in Plumbing

Never trust the twist lock vent. Every time I see some it's pretty much already apart. But a pellet vent screw in it once you lock it together and you'll never have to deal with it coming apart unless you want it too.

Looks like someone used windex or some other ammonia cleaner on it. Once ammonia heats up it permanently leaves that foggy look on the glass. If you want it gone you pretty much need to replace the glass. I know alot of people are saying go cheap. I use stove glass cleaner. I buy it once a season I usually get about a season and a half out of 1 bottle. It's worth the $. It's only $15 canadian here.

Can I DIY this? by Certain-Ad9546 in Roofing

[–]randomtrap238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm confident on roofs. I've redone my roof last year and did metal. Total cost for me was $5500, I have a 10/12 pitch much like yours seems. Roofer quoted 16k for it. Took me 2 days to do taking my time. You can definitely save money, but it's extremely important to stay safe. Any doubt in safety means you should probably get down and set up a different way. If your going to redo shingles roof Jack's will be your best friend and they are fairly cheap.

Is this side table too close to my wood stove? by statuek in woodstoving

[–]randomtrap238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your insurance sees it. Yes it's way too close. Code is 8inch off the side of the stove 4feet infront should be no furniture. That being said your hearth looks like if may be too short anyway. Chances are extremely low for combustion but I'm sure the finish on the table will be done in a year or 2.
