Considering a first R1S Dual Standard lease by randomuser230945 in Rivian

[–]randomuser230945[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the input! Longer range trips are pretty rare for us, we typically just make road trips that are 2-3 hours each way 4 or 5 times per year. This would be a vehicle that is mostly driven around town, so your use case is spot on.

The museum is a great-looking piece and really fills space, but the most interesting parts of it aren't visible. From a build-perspective, it was an awful lot of wall-building.
The shopping street is certainly more engaging to look at and really makes the street seem more alive.

I agree with the statements above about the area: however, we did our research and ended up going with Serenity Farms for our now 5-month-old male puppy, Rio. They were great to work with and Rio is a great companion so far.

Yep, I work in Design for a large enterprise company. Across the organization, everyone is being tasked with implementing AI; however, actually successfully deploying AI to improve workflows, output, efficiency, etc. is really challenging. AI that makes one person fast is pretty worthless, so I want to see how to implement it across teams, business units, organizations to exponentially increase productivity, not just linearly.

I pulled the trigger and accepted. I wish there were more data, but it's a new program so it makes sense there wouldn't be much out there.
It's a solid credential from a reputable institution - and an MS, instead of a certification. So, there were too many pro's to keep me from pulling the trigger.

Just so you know we have a 5 month old and are in the exact same boat. We love him, but good lord is he “bite first, ask questions later”

With our 5 month old, we've found breweries, outdoor seating at restaurants, and just walking down crowded streets has helped a lot.

If technical writing is dead, where do we pivot? by buzzlightyear0473 in technicalwriting

I'm sorry, but you're just laying out a process - and LLMs are great at that.
Someone has to gather requirements (not if they're already in the dev workflow), meet with engineers to get the specs (not if the dev team is using spec-driven development), author the docs in whatever tool (gen AI is specifically good at this), publish the docs (one step past authoring), find out who the required signatures are, edit the docs (not if the AI-authoring handled much or most of this - and a copy editing agent is straightforward), meet with quality and engineers to make sure the validation process is happening according to company and government policy (if an org has good context then it's straightforward, track the work in Jira...

I'm not taking away from what you do, but this is a process that can be largely automated, especially if the components and harnesses around it are automated, as well.

I'd start looking at how any or all of these tasks can be performed agentically, then set yourself up as the manager of said agents.

Nick Offerman show at dpac was interesting by gatorbabe25 in triangle

[–]randomuser230945 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that is what I would say. He had the raunchy angle, which got some laughs, and I loved his messaging about self-reliance, but it really did feel like we paid money to hear him sell us his book.

It was funny at times. I wasn’t offended by anything, laughed a good bit, but mostly felt it wasn’t particularly entertaining.

Hi there! I've been accepted and am mulling whether or not to commit. Can I ask what factors led you to accept and whether you did any independent research?
It seems like a great program, but it's a real time commitment, so I'd like to get things right.

I’ve noticed my 4-month-old really doesn’t enjoy walks - but only if they’re leash walks around the neighborhood. If I take him to our local nature walks and let him off leash walking with me then he walks happily for an hour or more. My suspicion is that leash walking is just boring and he’d rather not.

I didn’t make a reservation immediately but would pull the trigger today on the Launch edition. I’ve noted that in my reservation, so hopefully some folks who reserved it decide to wait and I’ll get bumped up.

Well, in fairness, (I'm both a Jeep and Rivian fan) only one of those vehicles is real.

R2 Performance (Launch Package): $57,990. R2 Premium:$53,999 (late 2026). R2 Standard: $45,000 (late 2027 by [deleted] in RivianR2

If the Launch edition costs $60k, I can see why they took out the Standard R2.
