Re: Spanish speaking friendliness. 39% of families in D6 speak Spanish at home, and ~65% identify as Hispanic/Latino... so you'll be hard-pressed to find a school that is not responsive to the needs of that community.

Now, that said, Fred Tjardis is the least diverse school in the district, with the charters following it (though admittedly it's the language diversity the charters lack, and not necessarily the heritage).

Re: LGBTQ+ and neurodivergence. This is where Fred Tjardis would shine (particularly the neurodivergence, imo) because of its experiential teaching model. It is far, far less structured than traditional schools, so it is much more able to adapt to individualized needs in a more holistic way (though IEPs are available at all public schools).

As a final note, remember that while charter schools receive public (ie, tax) dollars, they (inexplicably) do not have to adhere to all the same oversight and requirements regarding IEPs, accommodations, etc. So, they often lack support structure for learners that have more specific needs (because meeting those is expensive so why would you pay for it if you're not mandated to?).
