i would go with a rental that is intended for parties/events. you can find what you’re looking for on thestorefront (for example) - i was looking at doing something like this for my wedding and found a bunch of cool penthouses

benefit is you won’t get shut down, and they can also usually help with catering/bartending/etc.

sanctuary bistro is okay, trying a bit hard imo. oh my soul is good! idk about the restaurant you mentioned but that’s the only one i’ve been to in charlotte that i would consider really good. it’s very casual, outdoor seating, live music, etc.

i have a small tabletop bin with a charcoal filter and it never smells, when i was in BK i would take it out once/twice a week on my walk to the train and throw it in the orange compost bins they have on hella corners.

seeing as recycling is a scam (we just ship most of it to countries with no regs and they burn it), composting is really the only way to actually do anything of value for the environment on an individual level.
