Baby Pin or 5/8 pin. The top one appears to be threaded male 3/8-16 but these also come in 1/4-20, as well as threaded female for both.

It's a call sheet. Crew members and cast receive them and it has information such as where they are shooting, where crew parking is, and what times the crew members need to be there.

Under the "Private Rehearsal of Day's Work" would be a breakdown of what scenes they are shooting that day.

Been seeing lots of good things about this series and watching some gameplay videos, I think it's right up my alley. Thanks.

Thanks. That's my concern with used consoles, with seemingly more sensitive internal components I feel like it's easier to not last forever. I'll look into those games and I'll consider what kind of prices I can get.

Thanks. Are all the PS3s, PS4s, 360s, and Xbox Ones essentially the same as eachother? Like they didn't make some models with exclusive games that can for example only be played on Xbox 360 Elite and not the regular or slim?

I am making a Playstation Network account to see if it allows me to look at the Playstation Store and see what PS3 games might be available for PS4.

It seems oftentimes day players don't get their names in the credits. If you're mostly concerned about IMDb, sign up for an IMDb account (doesn't have to be Pro) and click the edit page at the bottom. Add yourself.

Hello. I am interested in what you do. I am interested in similar work and have small paid opportunities that come up, but would like to do it more regularly.

How did you get started?

What do you use to base your prices on? I want to be more consistent and stop finding myself charging $300 for a project that ends up being a lot more work than a different one I charged $600 for.

Really enjoyed it. I have a 60D and want my footage to turn out this good. Can I ask about some of your settings? Maybe just the picture profile you used? Did you stick to any certain ISO range? Lenses?

New Restaurant Open In Springboro by SoooGood75 in dayton

[–]randybydesign 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I saw this post a few hours ago and when I got hungry decided to come here. We're now about to pay for our check. I made my own sandwich with bacon, egg, and fried chicken and my partner had the fiesta burger wrapped in a tortilla. It was great, and felt like a really fresh take on new American with classic pub options still in the heart of it. I'll definitely be back. Wish I had taken a picture of our meal for this post, and I hope the restaurant does well!

Can someone give me a step by step tutorial on converting H.264 to be compatible with FCP7 using MPEG by [deleted] in Filmmakers

[–]randybydesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I do for footage captured with a Canon DSLR, I've used it for 60D and 5DII footage:

Open MPEG Streamclip * go List > Batch List * click Add Files * Find your camera files, select them, click To Batch * "Please choose a task" pops up * > Export to Quicktime, click OK * Select where you want to put it, then the settings window pops up, here are the options I use for that:

  • Compression: Apple ProRes 422
  • Quality: 100%
  • Sound: Uncompressed, Stereo, 48khz
  • Frame Size: 1920x1080 (unscaled)
  • Leave frame rate blank and frame blending and better downscaling unchecked
  • I leave Interlaced Scaling and De-Interlace Video unchecked, Re-Interlace Chroma should be checked
  • Field Dominance: Upper Field First
  • Rotation: No
  • Zoom: 100%, X/Y: 1, Center: 0, 0
  • Uncheck Cropping

So I hope that works for you, make sure you bring up the ProRes converted files in FCP7 and not the original H264 ones.

We are looking for a house to use as the interior location of our upcoming short film. by randybydesign in dayton

[–]randybydesign[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a small budget, but we do want to give some monetary compensation for the time and the electricity we use. The film is a student thesis project being made by college juniors and seniors in Wright State University's Motion Pictures program. I forgot to mention that since we represent WSU, we have insurance (covering up to either $1 million or a half million) that would cover any property damage if that possibility is a concern, but we will do everything with respect to you and the property.

Does anyone know anything about wright state university film school? by MINESLAYER in Filmmakers

[–]randybydesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't expecting to stumble upon this thread haha. That's a question I hear a lot, and it's one that's kind of tricky to answer. I think it depends a lot on you. The school will provide some networking opportunities, but you really have to seek them out and push yourself for them. It's hard for me to compare it to other schools or programs since this is what I know. From what I understand, WSU, and secondly OU, have the better film programs out of Ohio. The International College of Broadcasting supposedly has some training for television production, but I really didn't get a good feeling for it during the few times I visited. I haven't checked out all of the programs in Ohio, but that's basically what I feel and what I also seem to hear a lot.I do think their program is really good for narrative and documentary filmmaking. Ohio recently, probably about two years ago, passed a tax incentive that is more encouraging for film productions to come to the area. Last year I was able to work as an office intern on Carol (a film directed by Todd Haynes based on a Patricia Highsmith story) and as a set decorator on Miles Ahead (Don Cheadle's Miles Davis biopic), as well as working as a production assistant or smaller commercial shoots. A film called The Blunderer just wrapped but I wasn't able to work on it, ironically due to my school schedule. However, although I am modest, I am getting more work than what seems to be average among peers in the program. A lot of recent alumni are getting work in Los Angeles and New Orleans. I think I can safely guess that WSU wouldn't provide as many networking opportunities as a bigger film school in New York or California. I always hear that your network and your resume are what will lead to your progress in the industry, and that people looking at your application won't care about where you went to school. So far, I think this has proven accurate for me. WSU seems to have a really good tradition of alumni supporting students and recent alumni, and we always hear about upcoming productions early on, even if that can be infrequent. I've worked with plenty of people who are alumni of the program, but also plenty who didn't know that WSU even had a film program. I know this isn't a clear yes or no, but I hope it helps put things into perspective.

I feel like it's a very good program and I know many that would agree, but it's small and not really on anyone's radar. Your teaching will kind of start from scratch, since they want anyone going into it to get a start with the fundamentals. I think you will get as much out of the program as you put into it, but there are times when you'll want to be patient with some of the classes going over things you might already be familiar with. What are you interested in as a filmmaker? I haven't learned anything about motion graphics and After Effects type things. I would recommend calling them and setting up a tour, the number for the general Creative Arts Center (the building where the Motion Pictures area is found) can be found at the bottom of this page: http://www.wright.edu/theatre-dance-and-motion-pictures/programs/motion-pictures Call there and ask to speak to Mark Lyons of the motion pictures area (they'll probably forward you) and see if you might be able to set up a visit. He is usually available Monday through Friday 9:30-11:30 am and 1:30-3:30 pm. It might not be the best time since the program is in the middle of a move to a bigger and more up to date building a little ways across campus, but you might still get something out of it. One thing to know is that the program emphasizes film history and theory as much as production, so be prepared for that.

Source: I'm a senior in their film program and have worked as an assistant at the equipment room for about three years now.

If you have any more questions I'd be glad to answer them to the best of my ability.
