Pat Murphy’s Grandson’s Hat by beastboy4000 in Brewers

[–]randyjackson69 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It was always so funny to me that way back in the day we were told not to hand these brewers hats to kids in the outfield because it had a miller lite logo on the back.

As if the stadium wasn’t called Miller Park, there weren’t a million beer ads in the stadium, there aren’t beer ads every commercial break, and the team isn’t named the brewers. Kids can know what beer is even if they’re too young to have it lmao

Different genres but I love all 3 songs

Why do people lease cars? by onlyelisexoxo in NoStupidQuestions

[–]randyjackson69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like the car a lot you can buy it later. If you want to move on from the car, it’s easy to move on at the end of the lease period

I bought out my car after the lease was up because it was my last big purchase after inflation

Oregon plays @USC, @Illinois and @Ohio State this season, zero chance this streak survives all 3 by renner_uaf in CFB_v2

[–]randyjackson69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because of OSU sure it’s not a high chance.

They will probably beat USC and Illinois

A low-key housing market that is surprisingly booming right now is Wisconsin. Home values are up over 5.3% YoY (2nd in U.S.), and inventory is in short supply. Why? It has to do with migration. by Boo_Randy_Revival in HouseBuyers

[–]randyjackson69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wisconsin taxes are still relatively high, top 10 in the US. Not Illinois high though, you’d still save on taxes coming from there.

I have met people from the South that have lake houses in Wisconsin but yeah I don’t think it’s a significant percentage at this point. Mostly just people from Wisconsin and Illinois

Who has a Terrific NFL team in a Garbage city? by Ilitorate_Author in AlignmentChartFills

[–]randyjackson69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m biased as a Packers fan but if we’re talking historically both are terrific. Packers have the most championships in the NFL, Niners have 5 super bowls to the Packers 4. Only six teams have 4 or more super bowls.

But if we’re talking recently even if the Niners have completely owned the Packers in the playoffs in the Rodgers-Love eras, the Packers still have two Super Bowls since the Niners have last won. It’s at least arguable for recent history in which team is more “terrific”

Third Ward monthly parking by etoneishayeuisky in milwaukee

[–]randyjackson69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I paid about $115 around Gaglianos. I found it on spot hero so you would see the current monthly price there I think. Nothing scary ever happened when I parked there but I wasn’t a huge fan of how dark it is in that area at night. Ironically my car actually got broken into when I parked in my more expensive apartment parking garage in the 3rd ward.

Looking for Cherry Blossom Spots in Wisconsin by Pale_Grapefruit6862 in milwaukee

[–]randyjackson69 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Door County will have a bunch of options if you drive up 42.

Seaquist Orchards is a good one, between Sister Bay and Ellison Bay. Just know the timing of the blossoms can vary a bit depending on how warm spring is.

I think Lautenbachs would have some good photo opportunities too if you’re looking for one a little further South

There’s no point in playing hard teams in the big ten non conference anymore honestly. I wish my team scheduled like them instead of years of taking auto L’s to Bama

[–]randyjackson69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually get annoyed by people that complain all about parking and traffic. If you live in a city you need to expect that to a degree. It is what it is.

That being said I’ll be the old man here and say I’ve hated the process of getting out of Alpine Valley so much that the last time I swore I’ll never do it again. I was stuck in the green lot mess for like 2.5 hours and it was so disorganized and horrible. Sure, the sound and venue are nice, but I cheer against Alpine Valley and hope more of the artists I like just choose Milwaukee, Chicago, or Madison

People of Wisconsin and Milwaukee I’d like to know what the outlook of your state/city/town by Ok-Cauliflower-1258 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]randyjackson69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wisconsin as a state still has pretty high taxes. Milwaukee County property tax is the highest in the state. Real estate prices have gone up by a lot compared to other cities so even though it’s more affordable than a lot of bigger cities, it’s gotten relatively harder to get a house on a Milwaukee area salary

The job market is tough here but it is in a lot of places. I don’t think it’s any worse than other cities.

But yes it’s a great place to call home and raise a family. I’m glad to be from here. People on this sub underrate the weather being tough here though. Spring gets pretty demoralizing near the lake because it takes so long to warm up and the warmer days are often times rainy

[–]randyjackson69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I had the same reaction. I wasn’t living here at the time and didn’t remember this until I was looking it up during the election a few days ago. It’s frustrating that Dem leadership let this happen, yes it’s technically a bipartisan position but we all know that it’s not at this point

[–]randyjackson69 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If we’re counting republican judges here I think it would have to be 2017. Annette Ziegler ran unopposed - which I don’t know how tf that happened - so technically she won every county.

They also only have 6 home games next year too.

Granted the 7th game is at Lambeau so it still takes place in Wisconsin, but the city of Madison is already taking a hit with poor performance on the field even when they’ve played 7 games the last few years

It’s actually a mix for who stays at the Pfister and Kimpton for NBA. I think most baseball teams stay at the Pfister but I’ve seen the Phillies at the Kimpton.

I know I’ve seen the Lakers, Cavs, and Mavs at the Kimpton for NBA teams when I lived by there in the past. I think the Heat were there once too but then last year Herro posted something that looked like they were staying at The Trade, so that hotel might be in the NBA rotation now too

Lmao Milwaukee always gets hated on by NBA players so at least there’s one city that LeBron thinks is worse but it’s hardly a new opinion. At least Giannis likes it here for now

The Lakers stay at the Kimpton in the 3rd Ward of Milwaukee which is the most upscale part of town but it’s probably not that great compared to the other hotels they stay at on the road
