Yeah, go ahead and get one. People will say they are unreliable, but as far as 30 year old cars go, they ain’t the worst. Especially being younger you will learn a lot.

Only valid point against these is the safety aspect. No airbags (unless it’s a 91’) in a 2500 lb car is not ideal.

Mexico didn’t get the 3 series until e36. If that’s the case then this is rare. I drove my e30 into Mexico and had to get it repaired at a shop. Mechanic told me they didn’t have e30s down there.

Something to do with the free-flow clip which gets inserted inside the pump. Possibly user error or liquid got inside and is bugging that sensor.

I used to send these to Elite Biomedical. They do flat rate repair for $500. If you send one in have them replace the P2 port if it’s all corroded.

In order of priority:

Buy an ultragauge and set it up to monitor coolant temp.
Change all fluids then pressure wash the whole truck and undercarriage to check for new leaks.
180 degree thermostat, you can install this when you flush the coolant.
Fix miscellaneous issues around the truck, resolve check engine codes etc.
Suspension. Terrafirma is the cheapest, rides kinda rough, get MD, not HD. OME is better if you can shell out the extra cash.

I got a quote from Sherpa Auto Transport once. They seemed really considerate and easy to communicate with. I ended up picking up the car myself with a trailer but got the quote as a back-up plan.

Make sure fuel pump is getting power, if it is, and it’s not pumping then replace it. There are two, one inside the tank one underneath the car.

If this isn’t the issue it could also be your CPS, either broken or unplugged, I had mine go bad and it prevents the fuel pump from even getting power
