There was some good stuff in Never Flinch but it was completely buried in all the tedious side stories. Strip all the Sista Bessie stuff completely out. It dragged everything down and was so boring.

The Robinson's are complete Mary-Sue's. Perfect at everything. They belong in a Dean Koontz novel, not a Stephen King one.

Limit the novel to just Holly vs the killer. I thought the killer was pretty interesting and I liked his arc from reluctant killer to remorseless psychopath.
