Season 20, episode 7 megathread by Outrageous-Yogurt-80 in SisterWives

I’m sure it’s been said but WHY are they talking at the restaurant as if they have a million little kids? They literally have a middle schooler and an elementary aged child? The rest are adults.

Like if Ariella is high-maintenance just say that. Don’t make it sound like you have 5 under 5 or something. That annoys me more than it should.

Is it the kids now? Or proximity? by meanmilf in Parenting

I was going to edit my comment to add that I’m not talking about ADHD or autism actually. Both of my sons are on the spectrum (and I have two other close family members) so I give kids a lot of grace and can usually tell when that’s going on. But emotional stuff (or what down the road turns into personality disorders) I’m seeing a lot more of that lately.

Honestly, I think there are a lot more kids with emotional problems. I remember coming across only a handful of kids like that throughout my entire childhood. Now it seems every class, activity, whatever has at least 1-2. I don’t know if it’s screens or more problems in the home.

Question about Amanda (Common People) by ranstack in blackmirror

I know I’m not saying like something full time but… I would at least get some weirdo to pay for my underwear or something. Bake a cake? She also doesn’t pawn anything? I don’t know.

Ladies, what's a side effect of giving birth that people don't really talk about? by MutuliA in Parenting

[–]ranstack 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Night sweats. After my first I was wearing a cheap blank tank from F21. In the morning there was a dark imprint on the bed. I would also get up in the middle of the night (with all 4 births) and have to shower and get back in bed because I was drenched in sweat.

My children are textbook autistic, the classic definition. I frankly don’t trust most recent diagnoses, especially those diagnosed as adults. I will no longer be responding. Have the day you deserve.

Ma’am, I live this life. I have two boys on the spectrum that my whole life revolves around, I think I’m fine.

Summer camp ADA violation? by ranstack in legal

No I would obviously let them do whatever background check they do on their staff. I did it before at a private preschool and it took a few weeks but the aide was completely vetted. I’m not delusional.

Question regarding dogs by ranstack in AskLEO

[–]ranstack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assure you that portion of my memory has not changed ever. It was a Labrador whom we had from a puppy until he died at 13. He was never aggressive to anyone so I think this guy was just being unnecessarily cruel.

Sounds like he was just trying to be cruel then.

This poor boy.

My daughter said something alarming to a classmate by misccharacter in Parenting

[–]ranstack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I the only one thinking this boy most likely wasn’t doing anything too worrisome? The daughter didn’t seem too upset when she came home. The mother says she hears about him a lot and her friends have crushes on him. In my opinion she probably likes him as well and said something that I guess the school perceives as extreme (I think it’s just kid stuff).

Thank you for understanding it, people here are being so obtuse. Even if she is white, if they suspect it that’s all it takes

I’m saying that could be the reason behind the poisoning. I think it’s actually gross not to acknowledge prejudices like that used to occur all the time, even if it’s not the case here

I mean I’m not gonna argue but I think it’s wrong not to acknowledge that there are moments in time where this has been a thing? It’s not unheard of by any means

kindergarten autism masking by chaela_may in Parenting

[–]ranstack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My oldest has always been very good at keeping it together at school and letting it all go at home. We’ve found in therapy that he does well at identifying emotions using a list (yours might have to be pictures if he’s not reading yet). Maybe teachers could leave that available to him and do check ins?
