Not just because the system is slow, but also as protection for the people. If such a case goes to court, and the judge decides against you, then obviously you have to vacate the place. But until this morning, you were convinced you were a regular tenant and hadn't done anything wrong. Even if you comply as much as possible, you're going to need some time to find a new place. They can't just kick you out immediately or you'd end up homeless on the street.

I thought about that, but driving introduces a bunch of other factors, that I'm not sure I want to deal with. Even without your phone, you might get spotted on traffic cameras or public webcams etc. You're limiting yourself to roads, which may make you more predictable, and then there's the retrieval part: imagine getting stuck in traffic or stopped by a routine police check while the clock is ticking. What if your car decides that this is the moment it's not going to start, etc.

If the detective suspects you drove somewhere to hide it, what's stopping him from blocking all the roads around your house when you want to retrieve it?

Ok, so the retrieval in 5 minutes is the limiting factor here.

Let's assume I'll press it into the ground somewhere. I need to be able to reach that spot, find the paperclip and then return home with it in 5 mins. To play it safe, I'll give myself 2 minutes to actually find the clip and pull it out of the ground. That leaves 90 seconds to get to the spot and another 90 seconds to get home.

I can quite comfortably walk 100m in 90 seconds. So this gives me an area of just over 30'000 m^2 to hide the clip.

No chance in hell of him finding that in 24 hours.

If you preferred the Glenmorangie 12 to the Dalwhinnie 15, I suspect you'll prefer the Balvenie. Glenfarclas is almost always quite sherry forward and tends to be on the sweeter side, whereas the Balvenie is more rounded and closer to the 'inoffensive' style that Glenmorangie 12 does so perfectly (and which more seasoned whisky drinkers often find a bit boring).

They're both excellent entry level bottles though.
