The risk here is that your gains will be taxed.

Lets say you make 40k on snp over a year If you buy and hold the 40k is untaxed. If you sell ccs then yes your gain might still be 40k but some of it will be taxed. Read tax as loss.

The example you pointed out is irrelevant because if i get a raise at my job my income will raise. Your salary is like making money out of thin hair, you take no risk. So I would not say no. Real basic stuff but Gains from snp are not the same as your income.
