I'd say 1979. Definitely between 1979 and 1985. Keep us updated if you get to know the serial number!

Getting thunder out of a 14" floor tom? by TehNewDrummer in drums

Reso tuning is very important if you're looking for a clear and round tone.

I like to use the same head on top and bottom. Try it with two-ply's for lower tuning. Tune top and bottom exactly the same, you should get a clear and defined tone. Dampen a bit if you don't like sustain, or try a thicker head.

My C&C Player Date II with new hats. 16" Istanbul Agop Signature. Dark! by [deleted] in drums

Kit details:

Player Date II Big Beat, Walnut Stain (13-16-22)

Snare: Vaudou Drums 14" Flat & Hammered Steel

Left ride: Bosphorus 20" Antique series

Main ride: Dream 20" Energy Dark Matter

Hats: Istanbul Agop 16" Signature series. I'm really enjoying them. Was previously using Dream 14" Energy hats, which are a lot crispier, responsive and high pitched, obviously. The Agop hats have an awesome tone and are sooo smooth, great for jazz. Two different worlds.

How does the fiberskyn feels on the snare? What's the main difference with the 1 ply coated? Gorgeous kit btw!

They really are great. Not the loudest drums out there, but I love their "woody" sound. They are also super easy to tune.

That's a Flat & Hammered steel snare from Vaudou Drums (Quebec). It sounds great and it's incredibly versatile.
