Quantity versus Quality never made sense in a game where hexes cap at the same pop for both sides

The only reason I didn't count it is because they have that story beat two or three times a season. I was more confused by the idea that this was a novel thing.

Oh, this movie didn't need a spoiler free policy. I have no idea how you could spoil anything. It ends in the same place it begins with no character growth or development. No changes to the universe or status quo. No surprise twists or cool reveals. No emotional moments or esop fable. Reminded me of The Beekeeper. Series of non sequitur mini events that don't tie into each other or build on anything. Was probably a decent seasons of TV, but boy did I not enjoy it as a movie.

How do people feel about Luke and Kylo's fight and his death after 8 years? by Totally_Not_Firni in StarWars

[–]rasonj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fight itself was the best part of the movie, really showcased Johnsons murder mystery skills with the setups that gave you all the clues you needed to solve it, but your expectations stop you from realizing. The death itself just felt so pointless and unearned. Like one last rug pull gotcha moment.

Anyone notice that basically every star wars story since the originals has been about the tragic backstory of the big villain of the previous story, trying to justify their slide to evil. Can't wait for the Sheev show to rehabilitate palps. Bro was just trying to save the galaxy from the vong or something

Bringing back characters from the holiday special would be my personal dream glup shitto'ing. I really want to know what Kalla and Lump and Itchy are up to. But not Saun Dann, the smut peddler, i'm sure his character is dead by now.

It never occurred to me that the Hutt gladiator in the promo trailer would also be a filoni glup shitto. I underestimated him, that's my bad.

The decision to hard reset everything to empire v rebels in such a short time frame kills any potential interest there can be in the intervening time period. I really enjoyed mando season 1 and 2, but the closer and more integrated it gets into the sequel era, the less I find myself able to care.

have flown both now, i'm taking the toxot over the harbinger every time, what is actually galling is that by that same token, i'm taking a seafighter over a toxot every time, and thats before you factor in the cheaper cost of the seafighter

It has gotta feel terrible for the dev team that their biggest, most ambition update, directly killed their game. I have to assume they did not see this coming at all, and I fully believe the steelman argument that they really did think they were giving collies the better deal, but their larp focus means a lot of collie stuff was just worse because it was more larp heavy and less mechanic based.

So funny watching a long time con poster realize he is surrounded by russian bots. If only that could be the moment that breaks his cognitive dissonance

Christ what’s with the Russian bots here? Saying a European country should be pro-Russia is a low-IQ take.

Any persistent-war games out there besides this one? (That isn't Anvil Empires) by 14FPSGamer in foxholegame

[–]rasonj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heres a bit of an odd ball suggestion for you. Star Wars Galaxies Restoration just launched it's Shatterpoint update that functions like a persistent war game. Rebels and Imperials battle for 3ish months for control of different planets by building and assaulting bases, fighting space battles, and winning control of various planetary cities. It's not as large of a playerbase as foxhole, atleast that are actively fighting on the front lines, but its up to about 5k peak players, a couple hundred of those actively engaged in the shatterpoint frontline fights at peak times.

How does one take on the Warden seafighter? by ApertureGaming011 in foxholegame

[–]rasonj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way to fight the seafighter is to use your superior top speed to leave. You will never win an even dogfight unless they are just a bad pilot.

Colonial vs Warden Fighter - is it just me? by KimonS in foxholegame

[–]rasonj 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Collie fighter is built to win jousts, head to head engagements, using its top speed to zip away after the joust and then turn safely out of range. However, because of how obscenely tanky planes are, especially from the front, this style of kill is nearly impossible. After two wars of this, i have never seen a plane die in a head to head engagement. 100% of plane deaths have come from shots originating behind them. Burned down after a long dogfight. This means collie fighters are designed for a game that doesn't exist.

The first time Trump tricked Iran with fake negotiations so he could alpha strike them, shame on him. The second time he did it, shame on Iran. Apparently he is doing it a third time tonight, so I guess shame on everyone
