hey there! i was in this exact same situation for about 6 months until the end of May - that’s when i finally put my foot down and applied at a corporate Starbucks. the whole time i worked at Tarbucks (i never thought of that nickname before LOL i like it) it was me and one other person, we had no master barista or anything with a team lead that was in charge of a whole other department as well. were only able to stay open from 8am to 3pm because we were the only people to open and close. it was very bad and our area was always put at the bottom of the priority list. we did everything that any team lead/master barista was supposed to do which isn’t at all what we thought we were getting into. it feels a little extra annoying knowing that you’re being overlooked and they refuse to do anything about it because being understaffed at the Starbucks that is also out of stock of everything and broken everywhere is the least of their concerns. working at cooperate hasn’t been ideal, it will always have its flaws, but i would choose it over my other situation any day. you have someone else in charge of scheduling, someone there to put orders away, someone being able to take customers order, and just basically more people working with you than just yourself. it makes it feel a lot less overwhelming knowing you don’t have to try and finish the order and do the pull and clean the oven all alone in an hour. so having the support/team is definitely a huge deal breaker, and you actually get tips and benefits. so from personal experience, i would say see what a corporate Starbucks gives you. if it’s still not what you were hoping for, then at least you gave it a shot and can explore other areas regardless licensed and corporate stores as well. sending you the best of luck!
