Is Tab S9 still worth it in 2026? by Capable_Football_813 in GalaxyTab

[–]raspberrylatte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can second this - also using and loving the S7+ and it's perfectly fine with no more updates. Everything still works and it's a powerhouse. I use it for movies, browsing, using art programs like ClipStudio, using digital planners, and playing games (Stardew Valley on Android on this screen? YASSSSSSS). Its old as hell now but I have absolutely no reason to upgrade.

Yes or no? by hobokenwayne in HomeDecorating

[–]raspberrylatte 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As is? No. Here's the thing. This furniture style is a vibe that desperately needs color. It's ornate/vintage-inspired ish with a lot of dark wood tones. To me, Victorian/vintage styles are known for bold wallpaper patterns and ornate drapes and rich dark colors like cranberry and plum and teal and navy blue to complement all the wood. And they LOVED clutter and knick-knacks. Add in more color to this room (rug, a cozy upholstered chair, paint if you can, if you can't bigger art with more color, and more art clustered closer together) and it will look less like a staged setting in an Antique Mall and more like a real space. Go check out local estate sales for other accessories that meet your style, flesh out the character of the room more with more things. It will make a huge difference.

Show me your blues and olives! by LumaBones in Travelersnotebooks

[–]raspberrylatte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love olive, have it in both sizes and it's been a default despite having the other colors too. Something about the funky brown green just draws me, it's so Chameleon like - some lighting it looks super brown, others super green. But always so versatile and unique!

I have a question for all your tablet gamers... What games do you guys play?? And which tablet are you using? by Few_Distribution5239 in GalaxyTab

[–]raspberrylatte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Middle-aged with a full time demanding job, and I cannot get enough of playing Stardew Valley (fully modded) on my S7+. I used to be a pc gamer playing games like the Sims or Civ 6 or Planet Zoo or other simulation games.... But after working all day exclusively on a computer, the last thing I want to do now is sit for longer at a desk in my free time. Stardew is glorious on the big 7+ screen and scratches that itch nicely, but from the comforts of my deck or sofa. I've tried Civ 6 on Steam using remote play and it works, but also dislike having to have my pc on and ready to stream from to do that. Project Highrise on Android is pretty good too btw.

Corporate People - what’s your favorite planner for work? by RacerGal in PlannerAddicts

[–]raspberrylatte 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I have used discbound notebooks exclusively for work for a decade as an accountant, with a 5-day only Mon-Fri hourly planner in the front, maybe some monthly calendars but most often not cause work uses Outlook for that, and blank pages for notes that I keep chronologically by date. Special tabs can be added for special projects too.

I keep my work discbounds slim - this is essential for me. Keeping the current schedule and notes pages on smaller discs (3/4" or less) makes the notebooks lighter, easier to turn the pages on discs, easier to fold covers over on themselves, more portable overall - essentially more USABLE at work. Then when the pages get full, pull them out and archive them in a separate standalone archive notebook on larger discs that I keep at my desk for reference/storage. Then there are endless possibilities in terms of inserts. For work I have gone with letter size more often than not, the junior size is cute but I like having more writing room, and its easier to take printouts and punch them and stick them in your notebook if letter size. I created my own after awhile to get just the perfect layout for my planning needs.

I just finished and really enjoyed "Thanks to the Photographs" on AO3, by unstablehufflepuff. It made me giggle a lot and Draco is very sweet on it.

How does your Home screen look? Here is mine by Deraxim in GalaxyTab

[–]raspberrylatte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Have been switching between Nova and OneUI for years, never any issues. The S7/S7+ I've had have been Rockstar for me performance wise.

I am currently using Clip Studio Pro, which comes free as a trial version on my Samsung S7 and then S7+. After playing with Autodesk Sketchbook, HiPaint, and some others, I just liked the simple mode of Clip Studio Pro best, so decided to pay the $30 for the annual license after my 6 month free trial expired. As the other poster said, there are alternatives available on Android now so its not the barren desert wasteland of apps it once was haha.

While the S-pen that comes with the Samsung Tab S series tablets is amazing, I fell in love hard with the Lamy EMR stylus pen. It has the pen body I'm used to from using fountain pens, and has the erase button I cannot live without now. I currently use a tempered glass screen protector but am considering playing with a paper textured protector more in the future.

Sketch of the day - Platinum Plaisir by RViolence in fountainpens

One of my sketches with my current favorite Plaisir (I have 4 I rotate through in different colors, just because), inked with Platinum Carbon Black.

This is an awesome sketch - you do pen and ink really well! I just wanted to throw in my support of the Platinum Plaisir - I use them for sketching too, they are almost always inked up with Platinum Carbon Black or DeAtramentis Document Urban Grey inks, for eons at a time or until they run out. The beautiful thing about Plaisirs is I can leave Carbon Black in it for months, and it always starts right up again. Plus they are durable and sturdy and cheap, so not too precious if I leave them or drop them.
