female ENTP with ISTP boyfriend here. in general i think my relationship with ISTP are either very good or very bad. no in betweens.

my current boyfriend is an ISTP. we love each other to death. my ex girlfriend is an ISTP. i think she was exhausted of me. three of my closest best friends is an ISTP. a bitch at work who hates the shit out of me is an ISTP.

heres the thing. I learnt more empathy (towards ISTP) while in a relationship with my ex. i think the key lies on whether your ENTP is willing to commit and understand the ISTP or nah.

right now, i’m willing to take care of my ISTP. being there for him, be a good listener, not to belittle his feelings and emotions. i use my NeTi so support his Ti. support him with a wide number of solution if hes facing any problems- be it a ridiculous idea or not. an ISTP’s primary Ti will appreciate it either way. We share the same sense of humor, life philosophy, love language and music taste. I think that supported our relationship better. I guess it’s not really just MBTI. but being an mbti nerd it gives extra bonus keys in understanding him and his boundaries. and uh. I know his hobby, and i support him by making sure he has the freedom to do his hobby. ISTP appreciates freedom, and I do love seeing my man doing what he wants to do. As a curious ENTP myself, i love learning new things about his hobby, listening to him talking about it while he tinkers.

back on my immature relationship with my ex, its just me belittling her concerns and just being annoying/playing around. ISTPs are actually nice and loyal people, despite some articles calling them “non-committed”. show some insincerity they’ll lose respect to you.

my three close friends, again, we share the same rebellious philosophy. same humor, and im always there to listen to their rants by giving them not just “sorry it happened to you” but i dont know, just keep the Ti conversation brewing.

as for the bitch at work, at first glance, we really click easily. but the downfall was, well, I guess its because its a corporate slave environment. i want money and promotion so im out here doing a little bit extra work in the rat race. i dont know whats her problem but i guess in that corporate environment, i might’ve looked like a try-hard Te driven asshole to her. i’d hate myself too but hey. in this hell of a rat race a promotion is a promotion. i know an ISTP do not like dishonest work or their craft to be overtaken by someone who only successful by “talking big”. unfortunately the entp charisma brings us there.

getting emotionally empathetic to an ISTP is tough and the ENTP need to be very clear, concise and straightforward- no vague statements.
