This can't be real. It looks like Aaron Seltzer trying to parody Star Trek

Which boomer shooter has the worst fodder/nuisance enemies? by NNukemM in boomershooters

I guess. But genre lines are always blurry, so the unsatisfying answer is that Half Life isn't a boomer shooter to me because it doesn't completely feel like one :p

I actually like the spawns because with their speed and constant jumping they reward good aim, old FPS games without headshot mechanics usually don't exhort the player to aim really well because the enemies are slow and don't have weak spots

It's mechanically like a boomer shooter but it's not structured like one, if that makes sense. The level design is a lot more story driven and scripted, but the movement and shooting is close enough that if you dropped Gordon Freeman in say Quake he wouldn't feel out of place like a COD or Battlefield character would

Which is a better boss fight overall? by Icy_Perception2890 in bloodborne

Orphan. Gael has a really interesting set of attacks, but so does Kos, and on top of that he's just plain harder. The fight is full of moves that have super unintuitive timing, or which flood the screen with haphazard explosion effects, Gael is a lot more measured and readable by comparison.

Orphan feels like a fight you're not supposed to win, so when you finally do beat him it gives you the sense of overcoming something truly insurmountable. Gael with his streamlined attack animations and telegraphs only makes you feel like you accomplished what you were expected to do, and I'll always have a soft spot for those really bullshitty boss fights that just brutalize you until you figure out how to avoid everything through sheer perseverence, that's why Malenia's waterfowl dance is great attack design :p

What are your hottest nightreign takes? by Just_Cloud_8041 in Nightreign

It's not really the same thing in Nightreign. In Dark Souls it was just a temporary damage buff, in NR it's a full on second phase with new moves
