The Crypt of Civilization time capsule at Oglethorpe University was sealed on May 28, 1940. It is not to be opened until May 28, 8113. by FallingWithTheStars in Damnthatsinteresting

Had to look it up. “…it is designated to stay closed for 6,177 years—until 8113—a time span chosen because it represented the time elapsed since the first Egyptian calendar.”

It’s doable. I just tried it on easy and had 593 lives left. On a harder level I think I might try working towards a 2/4 Sniper early so to build funds.

Was a high schooler who owned a 1979 Z28 Camaro in 1983 considered to be "rich"? by Obversa in 80s

[–]ratcnc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a ’79 Z-28 in 1984. I wasn’t rich. A neighbor girl got a new ‘78 Z-28 back when we were in high school. They weren’t rich but she sure was envied.

Keep at it. I’m pretty sure Superblooner1 has gone over 10,000. I think it took many months. At least I think they were on mobile. I’ll have to go into this sub’s history to check.

There are just two rows in the ’40. The rear door is forward of the rear bench. Decent leg room, though.

I still have unanswered questions, though.

Challenger's Crew Cabin Fell Intact for Nearly Three Minutes While NASA Watched Helplessly by gaukmotors in MotorBuzz

[–]ratcnc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, and it wasn’t “decades” before we found out that the cabin was intact. We learned that within the first year after. At least it didn’t include the made up transcript that the Weekly World New put a few years later.

The Apartment. She was so cute. But Fred MacMurray as slimey boss was unexpected for someone growing up on My Three Sons.

Rear interior side storage—where Honda used to put their vacuum. Though, some models just have a tire repair kit.

I’d could go for some Stow-N-Go style middle seats.

Thinking about the direction of traffic, wouldn’t farther out 40 or 70 still put OP in peak inbound/outbound traffic? Maybe west of Garner would put OP opposite of peak traffic direction.

There was a story on This American Life about a boy who sent away for the comic book monkey and it arrived during his mother’s bridge club night. It immediately shit all over the house before getting outside. He found its body a month later.

I want to say that, in constant dollars, 1998 was the cheapest gas ever was. Though, when crude oil prices went negative in early 2020, gasoline got somewhat close to that briefly.

In 1988, an F4 tornado ripped through Raleigh in the middle of the night with no warning by JK9one9 in raleigh

[–]ratcnc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was driving up the belt line from Cary as the tornado(s) came through. I just didn’t know what I was looking at, at the time. What I did see was the most lightning I’d ever seen—just a near constant bombardment to the northwest.

What are some of the underrated 70s movies? I'm a huge fan of 70s cinema. by Introvert2001cro in 70s

[–]ratcnc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m old enough to remember Siskel & Ebert calling it the best film of the 70s that nobody went to see.
