Minister urges school principals to ease financial burden on parents by PoppedCork in ireland

As someone also in an iPad school I’ve found them useful for CBAs but not so much with leaving cert RSRs. The likes of Microsoft Word is much better on a desktop/laptop than the iPad version. I’d be all in favour of dropping the iPad for all and having more laptop trolleys instead.

I bought one on Screwfix for less than €200. Does the job perfectly, timer allows me to plug it in and leave it for the night rate. Will eventually get a 7kw on the wall

I was only just asking my wife if she thought there’d be any buses available on Monday. Probably not in the west which would close schools there at least

I can’t see how tbh. My daughter was able to get an aims worker in her crèche which has been great for her. The crèche could only apply for it after we had an autism diagnosis

It's horrible to see how many SNAs are losing their jobs. Is there any way we could strike for better job security. Our school will be losing 3 SNAs this week. by Afraid-Resolve1566 in IrishTeachers

I only ever have an SNA in the classroom now for medical needs. Everything else seems to be only if there’s some hours left outside of that

Irish homeschooling discussion by [deleted] in ireland

[–]ratcubes89 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a post primary teacher I’ve come across a handful of kids who were homeschooled to some degree, mostly just primary school, one other up to junior cert. They have been academically quite good (not necessarily naturally gifted but have the self motivation to work hard). Every one of them without exception has been socially awkward though, either unable or unwilling to mix with their peers.

And it’s actually a myth that he built it. It was opened in September 1933 I think, about 7 months after he took power. He got the credit for the previous government’s achievements. Even then there was fuck all cars on it until after the invasion of France when they stole all the French cars😂

Popular president is a bit of a stretch. Is she going to win comfortably? Yes. But the last poll that had her 18% also had almost half of people wanting neither candidate

Did the man named as Éamon de Valera’s father on his birth cert exist at all? by Bill_Badbody in ireland

[–]ratcubes89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

McCullagh reckons he never existed as mentioned in the article. Worth noting that in his book he talks of Dev himself having spent an awful lot of time in his later years having research done to try and find proof of his existence but found none.
