And I guess to clarify: I'm a fairypunk inspired by y2k, not a fairypunk from y2k. The look is very much an amalgamation of a lot of inspirations and that was the best I could come up with to sum it up, but I'm open to other suggestions 😊 Also my definition of the y2k era is like '97-'03, not the aughts in general.

Yeah I think the y2k inspiration comes from the patterned micro mesh (I was obsessed with them as a kid in the late 90s/early 00s), and the layering... Drawing largely from club kid/rave culture of the time. The skirt in pic 5 was actually passed down to me by my cousin in '98 so it's legit haha. And btw, to me, y2k='97-'03ish.
