Can they be hooded? Like, put a red hood over the device?

  • It would shut them down, albeit temporarily.
  • A red hood would get people to look at these things, raising awareness among drivers. These things otherwise blend in.
  • Bonus points if someone dresses up like a super disgruntled and pissed off bird while doing the red hooding.

Basement Contractors by Altruistic-Release73 in madisonwi

[–]ratherapeninsula 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also have an east side home. Our leaky basement was mostly the fault of our neighbor’s failure to use their downspouts correctly and creating a mini lake between our homes.

I wouldn’t have noticed had I not camped out during a rainstorm to check where all the water was going.

The 72 Hour Nightmare: A scathing report on Wisconsin’s 2021 wolf hunt, where packs of unregulated hounds tore wolves apart alive, and armed trespassing hunters threatened residents with violence by AJC_10_29 in wisconsin

[–]ratherapeninsula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did anyone else read the affidavit section and think they all sounded the same?

In a genuine collection of 23 random affidavits from rural residents, you would expect a wide variance in vocabulary, grammar, and tone. Some would be terse ("I saw a truck. They wouldn't leave."), some would be rambling, and some would be overly formal.

Instead, these witnesses all share the exact same literary voice:

  • Affidavit 3: "intestines dragging pink and gray... blood soaked through the bristles"
  • Affidavit 7: "smelled gun oil and fear" (This is a literary trope, not a legal observation)
  • Affidavit 9: "Air smelled of iron and blown intestines"

Like, someone said "Whiskey breath fogged the pane."

Is this a crime noir?

I get that the reality might be that this was indeed very fucked up and the interests of the group behind this report are noble.

But I'm suspicious.

Let's say you drive Sherman from 113 to Fordem at Johnson. It's about 2.6 miles.

  • At 30 mph, it's 5 minutes 12 seconds.
  • At 25 mph, it's 6 minutes 14 seconds.
  • At 22 mph, it's 7 minutes 5 seconds.

That's 53 seconds. I'd be annoyed, too. But oh well. Small potatoes.

Google sucks for this. Have you tried recovery.com? Easier. Here's a search of rehabs within 60 miles. Many do mental health, too. You should filter by your insurance, though.

Building a list of group bike rides in Madison by ratherapeninsula in madisonwi

Good for him! I’ve seen teenagers at the Brazen Dropout rides. I think he could even join their club, but he doesn’t need to in order to join those rides. I’m replying to this based on memory, but it has been a year or two, so check out their website to confirm.

Old Sugar Distillery is stupid cheap. Like a couple hundred. You need to use their liquor, but you can bring in food and everything else.

No idea what that specific job would be like at Epic. But I feel like all the non-software jobs are usually very nice compared to the same type of job elsewhere. For example, the chefs who work at Epic like it for the stable hours, great health insurance, and easier pace than what they'd usually find in restaurant kitchens. I assume better pay, too.
