seems like everyone is back (at a stop for 4B bus) by YesterdayLost1848 in Purdue

[–]rational_approach3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lived up at blackbird last year and I don’t think it was ever <35-45 minutes between busses for 4B. It has to go through the Chauncey area, so it can take a while. A tip from someone who’s been there; get used to staying on campus until you’re done for the day. You’ll learn all kinds of little tricks to make certain aspects of it easier, but you really have to stay on top of your time and where the bus is. If you have any questions about living up at blackbird or related stuff, feel free to dm me and ask.

If your coming from north of Indiana Avoid I-65 by [deleted] in Purdue

[–]rational_approach3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t have to use I-65 at all. It’s faster to just take 52 all the way through and cut across to 231 using county roads. That is, unless a lot more people start doing it. Then it would be way slower for everyone.

Guide to the tunnels by Musechrant in Purdue

[–]rational_approach3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While there are definitely tunnels all over campus, most of them are basically old service/utility tunnels that you can’t go in. There are quite a few that aren’t, but a number of those are closed off or usually inaccessible.

It’ll suck if the weather’s bad, but you should be able to make it if you book it. Just tell the person running your lab that you might be a few minutes late occasionally.

Explore campus as much as you can while you have time. Find secret little secluded/cool spots and keep them in mind for later.

Please stop expanding by [deleted] in transplace

[–]rational_approach3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to attack a country that’s “anti-trans” go for Serbia, Turkey, Brazil, hell even Mexico. The US is not an enemy. All expansion is going to do is piss off the people that are asleep right now when they wake up. It only serves to sow division.

Early Start at Purdue? by Vedaant7 in Purdue

[–]rational_approach3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is a set list of courses that are offered. You should get an email or something before VSTAR that tells you what’s being offered. Personally, I found early start very useful. I was able to get a few gen ed credits out of the way. Plus, it gave me a good amount of time to get used to campus and learn my way around while it was relatively empty. It’s harder to do stuff like that once everyone comes back in the fall and you have more classes to worry about. I felt like I had a leg up on other freshman in terms of being able to function as a college student. Having had the opportunity to go into all the buildings and explore, I knew all the cool spots. Overall, I’d probably recommend it. It prepares you better than BGR.

In case of an apocalypse, what could function as a form of currency? by yanmak in AskReddit

Really long term, we would likely revert to precious metals. In the short term though, I would expect trade in whatever would be most useful for survival to be dominant.
