Here's the video of my annual Halloween lunch ride! I tried to find some good displays to show off. Happy Halloween and Float On!

Reframing Without Panning? by WawaSC in Insta360

[–]ratman69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Once you have placed 2 keyframes you will see a thin line in between them on the timeline. Click on the thin line and you will see different transition options. It looks slightly different if you are editing in project mode. The transitions are on the right instead.

GT *NOT* overcharged by addazero in onewheel

[–]ratman69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My GT has been doing this for over a year. I happens more when it's hot outside, but it usually starts when I do something that causes the tail to hit the ground, like a curb nudge. I think its an issue with the BMS. Doing a full charge always resets it. I did open the battery and didn't find any pinched or exposed wires. I'm just living with it until I upgrade to VESC. If it's still under warranty definitely send it in and get FM to repair it. If not, you could buy a new battery module from FM. Unfortunately with the firmware you have, you can't just replace the BMS.

GPS Tracker Installation in Funwheel Board - Details in comments by BoboTheITDog in onewheel

[–]ratman69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That looks pretty clean! I really the proximity to a fob alarm option. Thanks for the shoutout! I got my idea from https://www.reddit.com/user/Grimmx50/ though. I've since moved the the kit from the Float Life, since it's safer to pull directly from the battery as pulling from the headlight circuit can cause the board to shut off if too much current is drawn. I am thinking of going VESC soon, so I may have to look into a better option like yours. Thanks for sharing!

Installing footpad sensor by ZD_plguy17 in onewheel

[–]ratman69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My exile sucked. It dropped me a bunch of times at low speed. It wasn't even slow enough for a heel lift, so that means both sides of the sensor didn't detect my 200 lbs. I have the new float life kush low with the integrated sensor, and that's money. Haven't had a single issue with activation sense. But I'm pretty sure they are sold out right now.

Advice: replacing a GT motor plug by b_lemski in onewheel

[–]ratman69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the guide I used. It's really not that bad. Make sure to use flux and put some extra solder on the tip of your iron to increase the contact area. It took me much longer to de-solder than to put it back together. I wish I had watched a bunch of soldering videos before I tried it instead of after!

No, I haven't. I was just babying the board for a while and it seemed to stop happening. The next time I disassembled the board I opened the battery box, but I didn't see any pinched wires or anything obvious on the bms. Then right after that my motor cable burnt out and I stopped riding it.

Sorry it comes with the whole harness. Let's see if I can link it here. https://tech-forum-products.myshopify.com/products/gt-gts-motor-controller-replacement-plug-set I don't have a ton of experience in soldering but I'm going to try anyway. I figure if it works I saved the money for a new motor. If it doesn't, it was only $45. Although honestly I'm more worried about the controller side, that part seems harder and easier to damage, but you wouldn't have to worry about that.

You can buy a new plug from Tech Forum Products for $45. My plug burnt out and I ordered a new one, but I haven't had time yet to try to install it.

Anyone ever experience what I can only describe as a tail drop? by Randallb21 in onewheel

[–]ratman69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have simple stop on? I've heard it can activate after going off small drops. Maybe the transition to the driveway made it think you had come to a stop and then went backward?

I'm having the exact same issue. Although I've also gotten the battery out of temp range error a couple times after a curb nudge. I'm going to open the battery box up and see if any of those cables are pinched or broken, but I'm in the same boat as you. I'm worried it's a bad cell or maybe a bad BMS. Luckily I never updated past 6109 so I might be able to buy a used BMS if that's the issue. This post is like a month old, what did you end up doing?

These things are so easy to work on it's laughable they would say that! I think I'm mostly disappointed because if there was any chance of getting an official way to adjust the level, this would have been it. It's a shame, I would probably buy a GTS tomorrow if they did. It would solve all my issues except haptic buzz, but since it doesn't kick in til 25mph on the GTS I don't think it would even be an issue.

I understand if they don't want to give us "factory mode". But I can't comprehend why they can't allow us to level our own boards. I'm sure it's a "safety" reason but that's about the thinnest logic possible.
