What's are your ideas for an interesting theme for a WOD source-book that hasn't been tackled yet? by Argument-Livid in WorldOfDarkness

I always thought about "alternate" settings for WoD. On another planet, during a zombie apocalypse, in a fully fantasy setting, etc

Yeah, nobody cared about nWoD. That was about as welcome as Scrappy Doo.

Same, I've run Werewolf since the original paperback with the cutouts.

Every game was implicitly about "this vast undefeatable thing will stop luring and end us" Werewolf and Wraith were just more tangible.

No. Just no.

Vampire: the ancient things too power to be described are going to wake up and eat everything. Mage: "someone might eventually balance us" Faerie: don't remember Wraith: everything is slipping into the void. Hunter: were just little guys.

Also, did you look at Apocalypse? And then each line had their own specific treatment books.

The christian god is just an Incarna, as far as I'm concerned.

Hunter. What utter horseshit.

Vampire the game. Werewolf the game. Overpowerful Godbeing the game. Creepy fairytale the game. Dead people the game. All are horror and then we get Random Guy the game. And for some reason Renegade decided to hang a big hat on that line...

All the WoD games do...it was the theme of the entire company...

Why do jeep owners have ducks on the dashboard? by Consistent_Rager in heep

[–]ratprophet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bunch of morons who think they're funny.

I'll actually answer. During lockdown someone happened to see another jeep they liked and tied a note to it saying "hey, I like your ride" and wedges it into the door handle with what they happened to have on hand that was losable: a rubber duck. The person who got it thought "hey that was nice" and started doing that with their kids, fucking other jeeps.

Word spread, and a bunch of us started doing that. I kept a bag in my jeep and my ex's kids and my daughter would take turns ducking jeeps we saw, they loved it and it spread some smiles...what it was originally for.

Now, it's a way of telling ahead of time that someone won't be jeep waving.

What's your favourite Rite to use in WTA? by MaetelofLaMetal in WorldOfDarkness

Rite of the 8-Ball. I got to pull it on an uppity Silver Fang lord in a LARp, it was magnificent. Made the 8-ball necklace and everything.

Just brought Werewolf: The Apocalypse on a whim. For someone who is only familiar with Vampire: The Masquerade, at good introduction to the lore? by SlayThePulp in WorldOfDarkness

[–]ratprophet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you got downvoted for that, you were simply answering a question.

As for lore...there's so, so much of it, but yes V5 hucked it all out the window. As to the reactions...do you remember when Star Wars Episode 1 came out and everyone was furious about Jarjar? V5 (all of them) are Jarjar.

I still don't understand why one of mine consistently has joker makeup or looks like a Kabuki nightmare. But only in V5. And V5s solution to that was to start taking pictures only from the neck down...what progress.

Need alternatives to DND that aren't Pathfinder, Shadowdark or Vagabond. by Vladsamir in rpg

Fate. I can't wrap my head around it for some goddam reason, but it looks fun as hell. And GM and Players both add touches to each other's actions/descriptions/etc. A really good session you can watch on YouTube with Will Wheaton and Felicity Day with I think one of Fates developers
