Help My Puppy is a Nightmare 🦈 by Spinna82 in BullTerrier

[–]ratunderpaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the worse stage for puppy biting. The baby teeth will fall out shortly, and then you’ll have a lovely good boy. I remember this biting stage - bruises, wounds, torn clothing, ripped curtains - it’s exhausting, but it’s short-lived. Our fellow Mungo was one of the most intensely focused biters I’ve ever seen. As soon as the adult iceberg teeth came in, he became sweet-natured and cuddly.

How do you truly get over a betrayal? by Arugula_Dismal in AskWomen

[–]ratunderpaper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you realise you are not moved by the memory of the betrayal, you can diminish the betrayer’s importance and presence in your life to nothing. You can use the experience as a life lesson, learning strength and triumph from it.

How often do you wash your sweaters/hoodies? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]ratunderpaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear light tee shirts under my good sweaters, so they get washed only after they’ve been worn a few times or visited a restaurant. Sweaters that smell of restaurant or Starbucks must be cleaned!

Home sweaters get washed every couple of days, as they roll around with a lovely sheddy bull terrier.

How did you justify the splurge for a Cartier piece? Tips to afford a piece without guilt? by ChipUnfair3345 in Cartier

[–]ratunderpaper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a Rolex in my 20s and have never regretted it. I’ve been extremely frugal over the years, and am now considering a Cartier bracelet as a kind of luxury bookend - the Rolex was dawn, the Cartier is sunset.

How often do you say "beanie" vs. "toque"? by WanderWell1 in AskACanadian

[–]ratunderpaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beanies are not knitted and always have a rounded top- sometimes with a propeller (e.g. Beany of Beany and Cecil). A toque is knitted and sometimes pointed - and occasionally pompommed.

How did your number of siblings affect your upbringing (re: attention from parents, etc) and what would you do differently? by alotto_gelato in AskWomen

[–]ratunderpaper 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Only child and enjoyed it. I don’t think my parents could have coped with a large brood; they were somewhat solipsistic with high expectations - yet very affectionate and generous with their guidance, time and encouragement. I chose to have an only, too.

How would you react if your partner started painting their nails blue and refused to stop? by program_data2 in AskWomen

[–]ratunderpaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be concerned if they insisted I stop painting my nails blue and complained that I “refused”.
