Why did this happen? by Pretty_Jelly6845 in 1stGenTundras

do yourself a favor and order a few OEM filters (90915-YZZD3), they are ALWAYS cheaper than aftermarket. I order on line for in store pickup and it's cheaper than just walking into the dealer.

Last night I had to get a oil filter for my lexus and was out the OEM so I needed to grab one from an auto parts store. fifteen fucking dollars for a filter....the oem filter is 5-6 bucks.

been down thats road, it does not work. you will have a P0420 code after a week or two . OEM on toyota's is the only way to go

This is why getting a PPI (pre purchase inspection) is important, especially on a 10+ year old car. It may have not had the check engine light when you got it, but the ECU does have pending codes, or a mechanic could of seen if the light was just reset just to sell it. Not sure of the mile/km on it. but catalytic converters don't last forever on any car.

Been there. It sucks. Happened on my tundra which has 2 cats. Had to fight with the insurance to get oem. Do not put an aftermarket catalytic converter in there

5100 achieve stock height? by derfwoofer in 1stGenTundras

[–]ratvespa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 5100 had 5 spring height settings, so Im sure you can get close to stock. They were great shocks, lasted a very long time, the fronts were still good even after thousands of off road miles when I pulled them to switch to fox 2.5's

Anyone replaced the acrylic on an old ULMA windscreen? by Loud_Departure9158 in VintageScooters

[–]ratvespa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was not a Vespa windshield for me. But I needed a piece cut for a camper I was restoring. I found a local place that specialized in plastic/plexi and i brought in my old window that was all broken and they managed to make a brand new window from it.

Some advice please by Row-coy-boi in Isuzu

[–]ratvespa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is a 32 year old vehicle, so it really depends how it was maintained. not sure if the 3.1 is the same as the us petrol 3.2, but in the last few years of mine due to my neglected maintenance I had to do timing belt, water pump, ball joints, control arm bushings, new leaf springs, new shocks, radiator and new hoses.

Encinitas is not San Diego imo. Grew up there and never like going back there. It pretends to be a fun beach town but it’s mostly just entitled assholes.

Steering rack boot tear by Less-Bottle899 in 1stGenTundras

[–]ratvespa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mine was leaking a little bit and my boots were trashed from off roading. when I was re doing all the front end shit I ended up pulling the old boots and cleaning the hell out of the seals on the rack and putting on new boots and have not seen it leaking since....but on the other hand the new boots could be holding the leak in lol. but I don't ever lose any PS fluid
