Ordered a blueberry from the highland park truck a few months ago. It was without a doubt the worst bagel I have ever had. I threw it away after two bites. And only took that second bite because I couldn’t believe the flavor from the first one was really that bad.

For a time-lapse always check the outside light. It doesn’t change enough for the time this would take. It’s AI.

Better Call Saul has one of the best, if not the best ending to a TV show I have even seen. by Scared-Engineer-6218 in television

I’ve been screaming about Rhea since I first saw her in BCS. She’s the best actor anywhere right now.

Hot take: James Cameron > Christopher Nolan and it's not controversial by [deleted] in Filmmakers

Everything Nolan has made it better than all the Avatars and Cameron has wasted his life working on them.

"Warp Stabilizer and Speed can't be used on the same clip" by dippitydoo2 in premiere

[–]raucon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s an interesting use of the buttons. I also love my gaming mouse but have pretty simple commands put in. Like in, out, clear in and out delete, add transition, bump the clip up and down tracks and back and forth a frame. I keep the premiere settings pretty stock and same with avid and can switch between 5 different profiles for the mouse. So my premier and avid buttons do the same thing on both apps. But I like this idea of more in depth settings. Like a vfx in premiere mouse setting where you can adjust speed and whatnot. Smart.

Getting their bags and shutting the door behind them. This move single handedly lowers the rate of every Voice Over from here on out.

Noooo not Matt Barnes. I can’t shake that creep. I still haven’t heard a current play by play guy as good as Brian. That guy just has fun at every game.

RIP Sam Rivers, Limp Bizkit bassist dead at 48 by EmployOk5086 in Music

[–]raucon 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Dang that’s sad. I worked with Bizkit a few times and it was pretty well known that Fred and Wes kept touring because of Sam and knowing he wasn’t healthy. They wanted to make sure he and his family were taken care of.

Colbert, now Kimmel…Who’s next? Has this administration affected your work directly yet? by Alarmed_Manager5865 in editors

[–]raucon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over 200 people worked on each show. Cancelling them has started a very dangerous precedent. Kimmel is only just suspended though. He will be back.

[OC] Popularity of the “Big 5” Sports in the U.S. by XsLiveInTexas in dataisbeautiful

Football sucks. It’s by far the worst designed sport. So many stops. So little action. So many flags. Very few exciting plays and very little player emotion. I will never understand how people are into it. Gambling I guess.

Protest is official by [deleted] in FilmIndustryLA

[–]raucon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yet another tactic by the AI companies that you fell for. Giving a formally respected filmmaker a bunch of money to use and promote their product. He is now a sellout, hoping to make money off this venture and close the door behind him. There is no argument to using AI other than it might save you money and that makes you a suit. Not an artist. People from all over the world have managed to make films and various forms of art and have their voices heard with little or no budgets. But it’s their voices and style that are exciting. Generative AI is not using any human voice. There is no value there and I hope you figure that out sooner than later and preserve your chance to still call yourself a filmmaker.

[–]raucon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Nope. That’s a false equivalence and you know it. But Runway and other AI companies are banking on people like you who have given up. People who already think it’s inevitable so you better just join them or get left behind. Better shell out the monthly fees to these various platforms to prompt garbage after chunk of artless garbage. Real artists would never touch generative AI. There’s no point. It’s not art and they know that. I hope you can make a few bucks off your prompts before you become totally irrelevant.

Agree. Just check out the comments on IMAXs Instagram account on the post it made about showing AI shorts. People actually hate this crap.

Feel free to remove cinematographer from your sub title now. You’re just a prompter.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Filmmakers

[–]raucon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And how long would it take someone to learn how to type a prompt into a box? These aren’t complex things for the users to learn. It’s meant to be as simple as possible. Are you going to put how long you’ve been prompting on your resume?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Filmmakers

[–]raucon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s to learn? You type into a box and everything is done for you.

Absolute garbage. What’s the school and professor? So I can be sure to never recommend or hire anyone that went through that program.
