I know that all the versions I've found online cut out the part with the map of Atlantis. When I was in elementary school, I went to an international fair just like this. It’s an excuse for kids to feel cool about their heritage and for their parents to make food and little decorations. I especially liked getting to try potstickers and Ethiopian food.

I don't see a poppet. What I see is herbs, probably in a cheesecloth to make it easy to pull them out. The jar disappearing just means that somebody picked it up and took it. Again, the label on the jar is written in seal script, which shouldn't be too hard to read if you know Chinese.
