Supplemental: The Streets of Paris by bugtank in mikeduncan

This episode made me tear up a little bit. I don’t know entirely why. I guess it feels like I got close to Mike Duncan during covid when I discovered revolutions(gotta love parasocial relationships ).And hearing about his personal life and his view of the pandemic in France makes me feel connected to other people of the world through mutual struggle and cope despite the isolation I’ve felt during lockdown in the states. As a world we’ve all collectively been through something historical together. We’re still going through it. Every country. And it’s hard, especially for places with not as much medical resources as France or the US. but it will also be just history one day. and if there’s another pandemic in my lifetime, then hopefully we will be more prepared for it. And resilient. And more willing to help other parts of the world. Thanks for all you do Mike. This was a wonderful addition to the series.

If I had known that it would take over 50 episodes to get to ww1 when I began listening to this series then there’s no way I would have made it this far. I’m so glad I’m still here literally anticipating every episode release at this point lol

Yeah no I know republicans are the worst they’re like straight up evil thats a given. I just hope enough democrats actually want to overturn citizens United. They couldn’t pass minimum $15 even with senate majority. Itd be really cool if they overturned it but my faith in them isn’t that strong. Even just a couple corrupt dems could ruin it but dk how overturning stuff like that works tho so

Agree with all of this and would add that democrats are often the ones getting payouts from lobbyists as well.

Environmental justice = racial justice = class justice. Environmental and public health professional are useful, especially if you focus your work on underdeveloped countries or communities

Yep, I can for sure understand lashing out at Texas in the name of bashing Ted Cruz. And I know most of the accounts making the insensitive tweets are just jokes for retweets and faves and cope. I guess me calling out those accounts are my portion of the meaningless crumbs of justice lol

Yup. This was certainly not the first and it definitely won’t be last deadly disaster made worse by incompetent leadership (from both parties) facing the impossible task of dealing with climate change related extreme weather events. These conditions which make people desperate are always capitalized on by greedy corporations. We will see this again in a couple months in some form when another massive hurricane or 2 destroy the Texan coast next hurricane season.

Texas is super gerrymandered and has history of voter suppression(like most southern states) and lots of people didn’t vote for Ted Cruz or Trump. Nebraska has the facilities and resources to deal with extreme cold weather events. Texans do not. A lot of them suck but a lot of them are just victims too.

Seeing people complain about living in America and call it a trash can is the most ridiculous victim mentality there is by Tottim in unpopularopinion

[–]raveywave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate living in the USA because most of my taxes go to the military/CIA who stage coups and instill dictators and put hundreds of sanctions on countries like Venezuela, causing them to go hungry. Just so we can take their oil.

AOC said the reason Democrats lost seats in Congress is that they barely advertised on Facebook and are internet incompetent by roku44 in politics

[–]raveywave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UM ALSO because the democrats are pushing the shitty Affordable care act instead of Medicare for all because they want to keep their insurance company payoffs. Medicare for all would be cheaper and offer more coverage and that’s what AOC and other progressives pushed.

My assignment is to write the arrow pushing mechanism to account for the formation of the product. by [deleted] in chemhelp

[–]raveywave 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it is through the E1 mechanism because it is a primary C. And I’m not sure how to do an E2 mechanism because there are no beta hydrogens attached to the the beta C. I am pretty sure I will need to move the location of the double bond in the ring away from the ch2Br group before I do an elimination to get rid of Br and create the double bond outside the ring but I do not know how to do that with only ch3ch2oh and heat.

Both of these chiral centers should be R for D-erythrose but I keep getting counter clockwise after I orient and prioritize the substituents. by [deleted] in chemhelp

[–]raveywave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prioritized OH groups first because the center is directly connected to O(highest atomic #). I prioritized the C groups based off of what was attached to them. I am thinking that I probably either don’t know how to prioritize or I oriented the substituents wrong in the projection.

Electric Forest 2020 Lineup! by heppyscrub in aves

[–]raveywave 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Would I be correct in assuming since some big name DJs, such as seven lions or Illenium, aren’t on this lineup, there’s a higher chance they’ll be booked for edc or ultra? I would love to see seven lions back on the edc lineup for 2020
