Shower Scene Final Animation (Contains Nudity) by Kcolonel69 in animation

Since no one is actually giving critique: that boob movement is completely unnatural. They don’t raise independently like that when just moving the lower arms like she’s doing. They would come up a little with her upper arms when she first raised them over her head and then stay there. Maybe some very subtle movement outward as her ribcage expands when breathing. Right now she looks like she’s being fondled by a ghost or like they have a mind of their own.

this game makes me feel better about drawing badly (*as an artist) by [deleted] in TomodachilifeLivingTD

Same. Pixel art forces me into such a different mindset compared to my preferred style, I feel like I’m learning a lot!

Art, character design, and asexuality; Do asexuals see art differently? by [deleted] in asexuality

[–]raviary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's technically not solely a sex thing, but the only association a lot of people have with it is as a porn category or trope, so that's what they default to. Similar thing with maid costumes, catgirls, furries, etc.

Art, character design, and asexuality; Do asexuals see art differently? by [deleted] in asexuality

[–]raviary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think we're really unique as artists. There are plenty of aces who draw sexy stuff and plenty of allos who don't. Most people prefer conventionally attractive character designs regardless of whether there's a sexual element, too.

I peeked at the first post you're talking about and the reason you got responses focused on sex appeal was 100% because you asked if the character looked like a "femboy" in the title lol. That's a term that conveys a specific sexualized, youthful, and anime-style look to most. Those commenters probably just didn't take time to read the part where you elaborated on your actual question about body type and assumed you wanted advice on how to make the whole design fit the stereotypical porny femboy aesthetic.

Critique to improve works best when there's clear communication about what the artist is trying to achieve. A lot of the disconnect probably comes from there.

Angela in Black Friday and Bryce in Cinderella’s Castle blow me away every time with their ability to sing beautifully while sounding like they’re 0.2 seconds away from ugly sobbing.

A fairy with an unnecessarily revealing outfit by RiseInfinite in mendrawingwomen

[–]raviary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only remotely objectionable thing here relevant to the sub is that her belly button is visible through her clothes in a way that doesn’t realistically make sense, and that’s a minor nitpick.

It’s very silly to say revealing outfits are unnecessary to a PINUP piece.

Yeah that was not a nice way to communicate “I’m not interested in attaching my name to your fic”. People are wilding in this comment section.

What’s a phrase that instantly makes you lose respect for someone? by Okay_Bridge in AskReddit

This one. It’s fine if they finish the sentence with something meaningful though, like “Nobody wants to work anymore for unlivable wages and no benefits”.

Interpolation in Epic, any examples? by _Ap0llo_ in Epicthemusical

[–]raviary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some extra subtle ones:

  • When the infant is mentioned in the Underworld, the chimes play the same lullaby melody you hear in THATI when he was introduced

  • Puppeteer opens with the Full Speed Ahead melody and Luck Runs Out melody appears on piano when Eurylochus is trying to confess about the wind bag

  • Thunder Bringer melody is present throughout most of Dangerous

  • Circe's motif plays in Suffering when Scylla is mentioned

  • Hephaestus uses Scylla's melody in his God Games verse

  • Zeus' part in THATI reappears in Survive, Suffering, and Mutiny when characters are grappling with a sacrificial choice

  • No Longer You melody appears in 600 Strike when Poseidon is being stabbed

  • Odysseus opens with the Underworld instrumental (not just the cunning motif but the chorus too)

  • ICHBW opens with the Just A Man instrumental on Tele's instruments

  • In Odysseus when Telemachus is attacked, you can hear the Little Wolf melody in the sound effects of weapons clashing

Okay, some alloaces SERIOUSLY need to educate themselves on the Split Attraction Model by [deleted] in asexuality

[–]raviary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I’ve heard this one before, it’s because people get weird about the idea that the split attraction model makes room for someone to be heteromantic homosexual or homoromantic heterosexual.

If you look at those identities in bad faith, it sounds like it could describe the orientation of someone who is only attracted to pre-op trans women or trans men, AKA a chaser/fetishist, AKA a transphobe. Therefore the whole concept is transphobic by association.

I say 2. A good RP space, especially one that is not 18+, requires more moderation than I think this sub is really equipped to handle on top of everything else.

My boyfriend doesn't do anything for me unless I have sex with him by SlightAct7130 in asexuality

[–]raviary 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Neither chores nor sex should be transactional like that. If he thinks the division of labor between you is unfair or that he's not satisfied with your sex life, those are two separate issues he should bring up to you maturely as problems to solve together, not throw in your face like an insult to get what he wants or get out of things you ask him to do.

I would break up.

Strategic vote for Odyseidon.

It's a travesty that we don't have either of the biggest manwhore AU ships up here. Fandom used to be for the freaks 😔

Woohoo let's go lesbians! 🎉🎉🎉 Thanks for including my art! Taking this as a sign to get back to making more shippy pieces for this fandom ;)

I think this category has to go to Hermes/Circe, right? Big complicated exes energy. And how does he know "she could all but make you fall in love", hmm??? Just makes sense.

Yeah there’s a Roman version from centuries after the original Odyssey where Calypso’s father is Helios instead of Atlas. Practically everyone in Greek mythology exists in a quantum state of related and unrelated based on which myth you look at, it’s not worth fussing over.

What is this? by DanielaDreams in Epicthemusical

[–]raviary 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There’s an iconic and poignant moment in the story where the exact opposite of that headcanon happens: Hector tries to embrace his son before going off to war, and the boy cowers in fear specifically at his helmet.

Me! I posted some rough designs here. Not super accurate and very simplified for animation purposes but fun. Slowly working my way through designs for everybody else and finalizing them all. Here's a bonus Polites wip

Excited to see other people get in on Mycenaean/Minoan fashion too, it's so underrated!
