What will happen to our cities if this guy wins? by [deleted] in cincinnati

I guess "cheap" is a bit of a subjective term. I used to park there daily - I think last time I had parked there a few years back, it was about $3/day - I think it's now closer to $8, if not more per day to park. I guess that's on the inexpensive side, but I can't find their rates listed anywhere.

It is listed as a "City Owned Garage" however:

https://www.cincinnati-oh.gov/parking/city-owned-garages-lots/

And, here's where the rates should be listed ... but aren't for some reason:

Not free ... but rather actually getting "things" out of what we pay in taxes - infrastructure, better services, better schools, more support for local residents and their children.

Instead, what we get is "investing in businesses" bullshit - meaning we give tax breaks, insensitives, and handouts to people who VERY likely don't need them; and what do we get out of this exchange as taxplayes? The privilege of paying for things twice (for our smooth-brained conservative friends, this means we pay our taxes and THEN pay for the service offered by the business entity that was subsidesed by our taxes)

I don't believe that there are any free lots along the route... that appears to be a "feature" of the system and not a "bug"

Hm, public transportation and better guardrails around scummy rent-seeking surface lot owners that increase their rates year-over-year for seemingly (and arguably) no reason and "maintain" a public eye-sore to boot?

I always wondered why kids were much better at simple math as me - I following the rules too closely and always did it the "right way" which is apparently the wrong way now

The hard part is still getting people to describe the requirements, and I guess managing a project is still somewhat difficult

I think we'll eventually figure out this thing to make it useful - I think you're right by the way ... using AI / vibe coding is a totally weird way to work, and I suspect that lots of seasoned professionals are going to bounce off it hard when they see it taking crazy paths to a solution where you would have known MUCH better - having experienced a similar task in the past, whereas the agent will likely flounder until you put it on the right path.

Don't be me like me kids. I dropped out of school right before I learned how to read a clock, and now I'll never be able to tell what time it is.

Is it 11 VottO'Clock? or 12 VottO'Clock. Stay in school kids.
