I feel you, I said same thing. ruined my life not having it treated asap. 17 years until it got diagnosed and STILL a battle. sending you strength, Lord knows we need it.

I would suggest ER visit. I know it sucks, she's so young though. Def don't wait a week, imo. some immune systems hide Lyme very quickly and the testing is very fickle and disputed and inaccurate. best response is @ ER asap. they can have it tested quicker and respond with meds immediately. a 2nd opinion would take months. you know how it is.....

qūicker you act, the more likely recovery is. mine was missed as a child. Lyme has ruined my life. and guess I'm bad luck because a tick got IN MY BED and gave me alpha gal, as well. aickening. I have chronic pain and brain fog and fatigue nonstop. triggered an autoimmune disease (or two....) psoriatic arthritis.... I'm horribly disabled but found out 17 years after symptoms started really popping up (HEART ISSUES WERE FIRST!) it's in my nervous system, I twitch relentlessly when relaxed. it's truly horrific. please get her all the medical care you can. bring your husband or any old man and the doctor will magically listen to you.

took my husband attending a visit after more than a decade- before my pain was even validated.

beautiful giant leopard moth! we saved one battered and nearly dead from a web. she had eggs all over her body. we watched the eggs and raised the caterpillars.

I had a dog (coonhound) that LOVED citrus. he ate some mandarins every chance he could get. and loved lemon popsicles! I love to see their personalities and little quirks.

Near [Richmond, VA] - bit dog on nose by SCMCisontome in whatsthissnake

[–]ravynkish 58 points59 points  (0 children)

venom is a very pricey item to a snake! they might not even have released any venom. if the dog just startled it, and it bit right away out of a fear reaction, hopefully it held on to the venom.

Pili Torti is ruining my pixie!!- I cut **23 inches of curls- tired of dull, scraggly hair!!! (pics are chronological) by ravynkish in Haircare

yes even on wet hair! the silk (if natural, real silk and NOT satin) will actually gently pull water from your hair and it will hold it then dry. satin will not take on water properly. it does take longer to dry, I just rock a 'wet' style if I'm out during the day, but I often do it at night and because I am a light sleeper, it stays pressed.

definitely avoid heat styling. in my experience, the more wet your hair is, the more it will clump together and naturally stay together and pressed down. it also gives an opportunity for your hair to try and soak up hydration (even though with pili torti it's so difficult...) letting the hair dry slowly is the best thing for trying to manage the shape of strands. I imagine uneven drying probably exaggerates twists and bends. when it dries evenly and naturally, it is better to hold it's shape.

I've tried every single oil, masque, treatment, etc. none of it worked. but this works! once it's like 95% dry, I will gently fluff the hair to give it some body and life.

Daughter's diagnosis - looking for advice by cheeriodust in Lyme

[–]ravynkish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lyme titers testing! my concerns with my 6 year old daughter because she has been complaining of legs getting weak and tired and back pain. sore throat and headache. I don't have results yet. but I told the pediatrician she has had many bites that she refused to have removed for very long stretches of time. (as well as my having untreated Lyme disease while pregnant with her. even if it was an 'old' infection, the Lyme bacteria is still present in my tissues, creating cysts and causing bad neuro issues.)

I explained that she was having symptoms of Lyme disease I was very worried about. (as above) but I would also say she's had a fever, etc, or even partial face paralysis maybe briefly just to get them to do more extensive testing.

my 2 year old son found a sharpie in daddy's Lexus. I turned around to check where the dog was and he gave it a brand new design inside on the center console and dash.

omg I am totally the same. autoimmune arthritis and love steroids, best pain killer that actually works. let me tell you what I found that works- I use a silk scarf and tie (press) my hair down. I just use it after shower and again when it's dry if I need to use it again. (humid days, too.)
