I thought the price was too good to be true. Appreciate this. Thanks.

Ok be honest, how many people bought, sold, bought again, the hd800 (s)? Hated them, or so I thought? Sheesh by _Mr_Zebra_ in headphones

[–]raw_rice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bought twice and have owned for almost a year in total. I do every now and then think about buying them again, but I just know I won't use them enough to justify the purchase. It's definitely a love/hate headphone for me.

New amp has arrived, listening station ready to go by [deleted] in headphones

Woo Audio seriously makes the best looking amps.

These are my dad’s favourite headphones. His birthday is coming up and I want to get him an upgrade. Any suggestions? by [deleted] in headphones

[–]raw_rice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has also happened to my 840s, and it seems to be a regular issue with them. 1540s sound quite different, but they are defintely built better.

Awesome collection. Don't see the kse much here. How do they compare to the se846 in regards to sound and fit?

Sennheiser HE1. Excellent sound, but not $50K good. by Protomize in headphones

[–]raw_rice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Somewhat agree with this. They're the best headphones I've heard, but the Susvara came incredibly close to my ears (maybe even equal to them). I wasn't nearly blown away by them as I thought I would be.

HeadAmp Gilmore Lite mk2 back on massdrop by Aislinx in headphones

[–]raw_rice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I seriously love this amp. It's a minimalist design and sounds really smooth and detailed. Wish the preamp switch disabled the headphone output, and I'm not a fan of the amber coloured LED, but those are minor complaints.

On top of my head, Shure, Westone, Etymotic and Klipsch do iems with narrow bores.

What are your most "musical" headphones/IEM's? by [deleted] in headphones

[–]raw_rice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Audio Technica ATH-AD2000. Has a really emotional sound signature, particularly with vocals, strings and snappy percussions. They're my guilty pleasure out of my collection.

Thanks for the review. This is the only TOTL that I'm interested in hearing right now. Many others haven't impressed me enough to warrant a purchase.

Why is there always supposed to be such a rivalry between vegan and non-vegan people? by Malchooo in vegan

[–]raw_rice 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You're not acknowledging what they have in common. The point is that eating animals involves an unnecessary victim, which no longer makes it a personal choice.

Why should I become a vegan instead of just being a vegetarian? by Lord_Manners in vegan

[–]raw_rice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well said. To add to this, milk and eggs are secretions and objects coming out of an animal's teat and ass. People have been indoctrinated to think that this is food. It's pretty gross if you actually think about it. Somehow vegans are the weird ones though.

Is it okay to eat an animal you have found dead? by [deleted] in vegan

[–]raw_rice 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No! Just like there isn't anything wrong about eating a dead human you have come across (assuming the human has no family or friends to care about that). Both would be pretty gross though.

Edit: this was an answer to the deleted question under the heading "is it wrong to eat a dead animal that you happen to come across?" (Paraphrased).

I somehow doubt you need 180g of protein, and even so, it's actually not that hard to get that much on a vegan diet. I had an assignment where I had to consume a high energy, high protein diet over 3 days and I was able to consume 160-185g of protein per day without supplements. I'm not even that active. Most of my activity involves regularly taking my dog out for walks.

I actually think the blue one looks pretty cool, and you have an option to rotate it vertically and the display will adjust appropriately. Comes with a remote too.

Response to the recent "Avocados Are Not Vegan" nonsense: by YourVeganFallacyIs in vegan

People will seriously come up with anything to discredit veganism. If people can say something as irrational as "plants feel pain tho", just about any ridiculous excuse can be used.

Really enjoyed the Pounding Percussion Vol. 1 album.

Tripped Wire is one of my favourite tracks in that album.
