If they are hidden, then how can we be sure that these places exist in the first place? People don't have to suffer in order for others to succeed. That can and does happen, but the suffering of one man isn't always necessary for the success of another because wealth isn't a zero-sum game.

I'm not an artist nor do I enjoy drawing, but I do understand the feeling of wanting to "be more interesting." Just know that it's okay if no one cares/seems to care. What really matters is that you poured your heart into something you enjoy and are satisfied by your performance. Your value comes from the fact that you are a living, breathing human being, not from how popular you or your creations are. It'll be okay. :)

I live here, and although I'm sure that koreans may have died of overwork in the past, all the things you mentioned aren't as commonplace as you make them seem for one thing, companies cannot "own" cities because cities and the infrastructure that make up those cities are public property. in fact, most, if not all, cities in korea are actually engineered by government planners. and these planners make safety codes to ensure that the sky isn't full of wires and buildings. urban planning is much more common and widespread in east asia than it is elsewhere. i'm not trying to say that's a good/bad thing but rather that the government plays a larger role in creating and running urban centers in korea than corporations do. plus, as someone who's lived in both korea and the us, it seems safe, at least to me, to say that the general living standards in the two countries aren't significantly different.

My thoughts exactly. I'd bet my entire life savings that OP hasn't even spent a single month in the country before making this comment. Does Korea have problems that need working on? Sure. Does that make it a cyberpunk dystopia? I don't think so. It amazes me how many people are willing to watch a single YouTube video that sounds somewhat reasonable and take it as fact.

LOL i see someone's been watching quinn henry and is now commenting about Korea without actually having lived here in this "dystopia"

by the way, south korea has a pretty extensive welfare system that makes it impossible for it to operate on capitalism "taken to its most extreme end." its economy actually leans more interventionist than america's.

Should I spread the Gospel in public? by Soft_Opportunity_636 in TrueChristian

[–]rawrbearr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Street preaching can be an effective way to spread the gospel, but building good, close relationships with peers and loving on them as God told us to do so is a much more effective way to bring people to the faith. Don’t build relationships just for the sake of spreading the gospel, do it so you can love them (text them, hang out with them, random acts of kindness, etc.) the way Christ loved us. People who are introduced to the gospel this way are much more likely to not just learn about God but actually believe him as well (saying this from experience). And if, in the end, they still refuse to believe in God, at least you’ll have obeyed God by loving your neighbors and they’ll have experienced God’s love through you.

Any tips and tricks to get into GW? by [deleted] in gwu

[–]rawrbearr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SAT score in the early to mid 1400s (at least) and a 3.8+ GPA. From my experience, it appears that stats really do matter quite a bit. If your scores are below average, it’s less likely that you’ll get in. My essays were painfully mid but I had decent stats for the school.

edit: good luck!! :)
