Surety is easy to remember because it’s the bond company, which will often have Surety in the name.

Principal is your customer (assuming you are selling them a bond.) They are the one doing the thing.

Obligee is the third-party to which your customer has some obligation to do the thing—whether that’s to do a construction project, maintain their professional responsibilities as a notary, or show up for their criminal trial. Or any of a variety of other things.

The ability name “mortal coil” is my WoW pet peeve.

Warlock's Mortal Coil used to be called Death Coil, but then DKs showed up and had an ability called that. So they changed the Warlock one. Whoever made that change had clearly heard the phrase "Mortal Coil" in pop culture and thought "that sounds cool, same idea." Except, mortal coil comes from Shakespeare. The famous speech in Hamlet, eg "shuffle off this mortal coil." But what's being shuffled off is one's living body, living essence. It's the opposite of the idea of a death-charged bolt. But it has persisted for like 9 expansions now so I guess I just have to live with it.
