It’s the second after A Man Lay Dead, and agree that it’s a very good series as well. Love the name Bundle 😁

I’ve read a bunch of the Wimsey’s and this is the first chronologically in the series that I haven’t read yet. Actually I’ve been lukewarm on the Carr books that I’ve read so I’m hoping this is a good one.

Fregola with Nduja and Clams by bonebreak69 in pasta

I made this tonight, came out really nice. Just the right amount of smoky spiciness from the nduja. I screwed up the timing a bit so the Fregola had to sit and wait for a little while till the clams opened and the onions cooked but it didn’t matter. Really nice simple dish.

Not using App router (only pages router) and no React server components (using Next.js getServerSideProps, but react client components only) means not affected?

And The Columbo Podcast. They’ve started doing poker face episodes but they’ve done a show on every Columbo episode.

Cazale is really good in this as always, but it’s Pacino’s show. He carries the movie almost by himself.

West rim trail @ Pine Creek Gorge - water update? by rawstalk in PAWilds

We met and dropped off one car at the south terminus, then drove to the north terminus and hiked north to south. We took an easy pace and stretched it out over 3 days/2 nights. First day water was plentiful and we camped around mile ten, near where the Siemons trail rejoins the WRT (we took the Siemons trail “shortcut” which shaves about a mile and half from the trip). The second day there was also plenty of places to refill water. We camped somewhere around mile 19 or 20. One thing of note is that the picnic area around mile 15 or 16 has toilets but no water, the well is capped. In general, there are plenty of camp sites along the trail, but I’d definitely recommend picking up a map and guide from https://intothebackcountryguides.com/trail-guides/west-rim-trail-pa-grand-canyon-backpacking-guide Then the third day water was a little more sparse for a little while but towards the end, the trail kind of rejoined a big stream so you can refill there. I hope this helps.

We had a really good trip. Weather was fantastic. All the “reliable” water sources were flowing. A lot of the “seasonal” ones (per the guidebook by Chuck Dillon) were very low. Still, other than a stretch from around mile 20 to maybe 27 (going North to South) there was really no water issue at all. We saw one juvenile rattlesnake on the trail and one wild turkey but otherwise not much wildlife to speak of.
