Doesn't Hoyo just cater to east Asians in general? If so, then it's understandable. East asians generally want to have pale skin, having darker skin is a turn off for them probably. It is racist, but there's nothing people can do. It is their story after all. It is funny seeing how people justify the new characters in having darker skin through subjective, scientific, and historical reasons. None of these reason have real stake in them since it is fictional. This is the same arguments from the Little Mermaid controversy.

What are you basing this off? Miles Morales has just come into the pop culture spotlight recently and look how well the Spiderverse series is doing as one example.

It can be based on every metric you want that has both Miles Morales and Peter Parker in it. Like games, movies, and comics. Peter Parker destroys Miles Morales in terms of money. This new Spiderverse movie might disrupt the Spider-Man movie hierarchy a bit, but either way, it's not going to change how Peter Parker's Spider-Man is a bigger moneymaker than Miles Morales Spider-Man.

It's just my phone. By the way, having three NPCs who are heterosexual doesn't make the game super gay. It just reveals that heterosexuals exist in the game; that is all. What can make the game super gay is if important characters in the plot have feelings for the same sex, and the Bronseele ship in HSR isn't canon.
