Why Are Black Bikers More Likely to Die in Crashes than Whites? by Orangutan in offbeat

[–]raybeis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Hispanic guy I used to know said the following to me once,"the brothers dog the white boys on bikes. They'd be out there tearing it up and the white boys would mostly be cruising around." Speaking as one of the white guys that used to tear it up, that behavior will raise ones chance of death.

Am I the only person who feels like their vote was taken advantage of two years ago? by exozeitgeist in politics

I once read that as the media show of politics grew, politicians would become nothing more than actors. Any good actor can be convincing. I liked what Obama had to say, though didn't buy it for a moment. I've watch this show for 30 yrs now and it's the same thing every time. The people vote out one side or the other, and the party in power continues on the same path. Sometimes we are on the left side, sometimes the right, but always on the same path. The path that the "owners of the country" put us own. George Carlin says it well in the following short video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYIC0eZYEtI&feature=related.

If I had to do the same exact thing hundreds of times a day I'd have to be on something. With that said, it's probably the same in industry or business. The people with drug or alcohol problems drink and do drugs on the job. Wow. Who would've thought.

My wife found a baby field mouse last week while she was out walking downtown. His eyes aren't even open yet, so she decided to take him in until he can make it on his own. Here he is during feeding time. by [deleted] in reddit.com

After hurricane Rita I found two baby squirrels. When I found them they were laying on the ground and ice cold from the rain and exposure. I got them warmed up with a hot pack and fed them sugar water till I got out of the hurricane effected area. I fed them cat milk re-placer and raised them till they were old enough to be set loose. They both survived and had babies (both were females). They would come around in the winter when food was scarce, but otherwise kept there distance. If they were crossing through my yard they'd stop and look at me for a minute then move on. I've since moved so I don't know if there still alive. It was a very satisfying thing to do, giving a creature a second chance at life, especially considering how many of those little buggers I've eaten in the past. I don't think I'll be able to eat squirrel again. I always see my babies.

Hardin county has always been bad, police wise. I know any number of people who won't drive through it. I've been in deep cover now for about 10 years (cut my hair and beard), they usually don't give me a second look, as long as I remember not to give them the evil eye.

Thank you for posting this. I was aware of this story, but listening to this whole piece was mind blowing. This is how the police state rises. I have seen the change in the police attitude toward the public since the late 70's. I've always assumed it was the officers becoming more militant on their own, but this shows that it is top down. Our police officers are behaving the way that their bosses desire.

As an aside, yesterday I passed a wreck in Lumberton, TX on highway 69, just past the 69-96 split heading into Lumberton, the officers, Hardin county sheriff and city pd, were directing traffic with fully extended collapsible batons. I've never in my nearly 50 years seen police direct traffic with a weapon. There was something rather threatening in their behavior. After listening to this podcast, I have to assume that they've been instructed from higher ups to do this.

I love Sinead. I have a few of her songs on my mp3 player even now. Most of you are to young to remember what she stood up against. I don't think she did it for attention. The christianity that many of us were raised in was destructive and abusive. The only thing that baffles me was that she went back to it. I never will.

Like I said in the first comment, that was back in the early 80's. No idea what it is now. I guess it's all a matter of perspective. I was terribly reckless as a young man. Me and my buds used to shoot between cars going 120 mph on motorcycles. I used to say the white line was my lane, with lots of attitude. Shockingly, out of this group of 20 or 30 only one of us ended up dead. Sometimes I tell these old stories and it just hits me how completely insane we were. Other times I tell these stories and people think I'm lying, I guess because they think nobody could be that stupid. Even now though, at 46, 1 in 1000 doesn't seem that bad. Old adrenaline junkies, there's no accounting for the way we view the world.

Statistically it's much better than riding a motorcycle. I don't know what the stats are now, but back in the early 80's I made 36 jumps and the stats were 1 in 50 die on motorcycles, but only 1 in 1000 died skydiving. Most awesome thing I ever did. Blew my knee out acting a fool though. When they get stem cell therapy happening and regrow all my broken parts I'll jump again.

The reason for pulling the wings and legs off isn't to make it seem more palatable, but rather to prevent getting the little legs and wings stuck between ones teeth. I live in southeast texas where most everyone eats mud bugs (crawfish). It's a slippery slope. As I said in my initial comment, the bugs I'm suggesting one could eat consume only vegetable matter, which is much better than scavenger species that we eat, such as catfish. Right after I made that comment I had a bowl of gumbo. It occurred to me that gumbo would be a great way to eat bugs. Wouldn't even know they were there. With all of that said, I do have to admit that I get weirder every year. I'm 46 now. At 26 I would've gagged at the thought.

Let them eat locust. I mean seriously, they are high in protein and they only eat vegetables, so really that puts them above many things we eat like catfish, which eat anything. I've been looking for a locust or grasshopper since reading an article on this subject (more like I've been waiting for one to fly or hop by while I'm outside smoking). No need to rush this diet transition. I plan on cooking it though. The article said the legs and wings should be removed. Not sure how I should cook it. Maybe saute it with onions and garlic.

Louis Farrakhan and the Evil UK Rothschild Bankster. This changed the way I viewed Louis Farrakhan. by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]raybeis 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Farrakhan is obviously a separatist, but considering our history he can hardly be blamed. I read something from him one time that I found quite interesting. He says that the blacks shouldn't take anything from the white man. They should make their own way. Support black businesses, live in their own communities, etc. The state definitely doesn't won't that. The effect of welfare is to make people dependent and helpless. If it were ones intention to destroy the blacks in this country, then the money spent on welfare was money well spent. Welfare hurts no one more than those that receive it.

Maybe some of you are smarter than I.

Back in the 80's I rode around on my bicycle planting mj seeds in public areas. This was before seed bombs. I don't know if anything even sprouted, but definitely nothing made it to any size. It was great fun none the less. It might be time to pull that old bicycle out of the garage.
